Default Phase 1 question. Is Greek yogurt ok?

I don't drink milk and don't really eat cheese. It is low in fat (4grams per serving) and has no sugar.

It is the only yogurt I can stand and the only snack I like, apart from Peanut Butter in celery. I just realized though, it may not be SB friendly. If I don't have a lot of other diary could it be ok?

Thanks!

I am hesitant to answer this question........

I remember it being asked back in September or so and I believe that Greek Yogurt is ok for Phase II. FF Yogurt is allowed for Phase I.

Have you read the book? Are you sure this diet is right for you? Dairy is an important part of any diet, and especially of South Beach. I think you may find yourself getting bored fast without cheese and milk. But I could defintely be wrong on this one!

There are plenty of different kinds of snacks you can have, and the longer you're on the diet, the more you'll discover. My favorites are Turkey Pepperoni, Cheese, Yogurt, Cucumbers, HB Eggs......

My concern for you is that if you're trying to find wriggle room now, are you going to be able to stifle cravings later on?

HOWEVER, I am strict with myself, and you may do things differently. I just decided that this is a lifestyle change and that I will adjust and do whatever it takes to get healthy again and stay that way. It's all a question of your self-discipline and your level of desire.

And then, of course, there is the issue of lack of calcium. If you don't "do dairy" it is darn hard to get your daily allowance with supplements. I don't know how old you are but bone building and maintenance is very important.

Default Thank you..

I am 25. I can't digest milk well, I usually have almond milk when I am not on this diet. I love cheese, but fat-free and low-fat cheese taste a bit weird to me. I still eat it every day, I just have small amounts. Pretty much just one serving, at the most two (which is rare.)

I am not worried about cheating on the diet. I haven't eaten a drop of white sugar since the end of December! (*does a little dance*) That said, I can hold out for another week until it is allowed. I just like that I can add Splenda to the yogurt and have a sweet-type treat.

Thanks for the advice!
