Default Monday On The Beach - March 14

Wakey! Wakey! We're nearly halfway through March!

Gloriously sunny day here today. The nuthatches were busy at the seeds this morning but no spring birds have ventured this far north as yet. By this time last year, the robins had arrived.

Gail comes shortly and will leave us looking all spiffed up. Our case worker is finally coming at 4 this afternoon and will certainly be impressed by my housework. Once again I am going to hit on her about getting a whole day off. A Monday once a month would be perfect as I could go to town to see Tayler who has no school some Mondays. There’s also Shirleyanne, Aunt Rose and friends to be visited. It’s three hours driving but it’ll be nice to be back in my hometown for a bit of big city life.

The weight is UP a pound this morning and I’m back at 200! I really truly am staying on program 90% of the time. The chicken pot pie deviance was not going to put me up a pound. I do know I’m not drinking enough water and have to figure out some way to remember t get it all in. It doesn’t do me any good just sitting in four two-cup bottles on the counter! Veggies and water, Veggies and water. Veggies and water!

What's happening around your beach towel this morning?

Good morning, Ruth! Veggies and water, hon!!!

Today I'll be leveling the stove and the final drawer cabinet. That should take me all frickin' day. It took me 40 minutes to get the fridge leveled into place yesterday. We're almost there!!

How is everyone?

Looks like a slow Monday morning around here! I just got back from my workout and am enjoying a large mug of coffee and some yogurt. My weekend went by in a flurry with lots to do. Saturday was spent doing some last minute shopping and getting ready for the christening, and Sunday we picked up DS and his family for breakfast, then over to NJ for the baptismal service. It went really well, the baby mostly slept through it, only waking up when the cold water was dribbled on her head. Jake and I played our part as the very proud grandparents very well! Afterwards there was a luncheon, and it was nice to relax and chat with my DD's in-laws whom we don't get to see very often. Came home tired but content.
So this morning I have a couple of errands to run, and do a bit of housework. Supper will be Deep-dish Pizza.

Ruth ~ the robins have been back here for the past few weeks, but I don't know how they can stand the cold! I hope you can talk your caseworker into letting you have a whole day off now and then, you could sure use it.

Ellis ~ that doesn't sound like very much fun leveling the stove and cabinet. It would take me ages to get them leveled, and I'd probably get so fustrated that it would make matters worse! I have to admire you!

Yeah, I get to post before there are 20 other posts. Weight is up a bit today. I didn't drink enough water this weekend. Too much Diet Coke. And too much salt.

I got lots done this weekend for the garage sale. Everything I'm donating is priced. I got Brian to give up lots of his old books that he never looks at. Our cub den will be decorating signs for the sale at their meeting tomorrow (it's even an elective they can earn).

Weather is cool again today but beautiful. I've got my workout stuff so I just have to hope work doesn't keep me too late.

Morning chicks just a quick drive by for me. I am busy with house work, and I need to run to the store. I have not had breakfast yet and now that I am sitting I am starving. I have not had a very OP week end. But tonight I get to go to curves. I have not had any diet coke in 8 days now but boy am I ever craving it. Amazing I have been drinking lots of tea and am trying to chug water as well. I had to give up on the crystal lite as it was giving me heartburn. Well I have to run I will try to pop in again later when the house work is done. Have a great day chicks.

Good morning all! I was a bad chick yesterday, but was good the rest of the weekend. Going to visit my parents will do it everytime! I end up eating them out of house and home when I visit. I am limiting myself to two visits a month instead of four. It takes me the rest of the month to work off what I did those two days!!

I just realized I have four weeks until my pageant and there is still so much to do. Keep you fingers crossed for me!

I really enjoy talking to everyone on the board and I have learned so much from all of you! Thanks for the continued support and for bringing a smile to my face every day!

Best wishes! Good luck this week on your goals!!!

Good morning everyone. Seems like almost everyone had a busy weekend...but it is Monday morning again. Had to come back to work to gain some sanity, I guess.

Yes, Ruth. Get to that water. You are not a vegetable yet - you can't drink that water by osmosis.

ellis - Do send pics of the kitchen when you are done. Sounds like you are very close now. WTG. It has been a huge project, but worth every minute, I bet. Have a good day.

cottage - Glad to hear that the baptismal when according to plan. You are so good to get out and do the workout early in the morning. I get home at night, feel guilty about not fitting one in, then begrudgingly do the workout. It isn't much fun that way, but at least I am doing it.

Laurie - I am getting to the point of not getting along with the DD-in-law' parents...and she isn't the DD-in-law yet. Her mom keeps calling long distance to have me organize a shower, like RIGHT NOW. The wedding isn[t until next January, but she wants ME to have a shower immediately. She called a couple of weeks ago and I tried to nicely explain to her that it isn't the position of the mother of the groom to be hostessing a shower (went right over her head) and that I also had my head in a different space at the moment (DH was away at a funeral and I was running DM around to her dr. appointments and getting her ready for surgery). I explained to her that I would get around to thinking about it in a couple of weeks, but before that time, I was not there. Three days later, she called and wanted to know what I had done. I was not impressed. Then our son told his dad that he didn't think we were excited enough about their wedding. When his dad told him what was going on, he finally understood. Apparently the daughter is having trouble with her mom...mom wants them to have mom's wedding, not their own wedding. I told our son and his fiance that I would be happy to help, but they must tell me what they want done. I will not do what I want and then force upon them. What would we do without mother-in-laws...

Barb - Don't worry about the weight. It will come off easily, especially if you get back to the water. You sound so organized with the garage sale. I am trying to get myself together for one...we have so much junk that got moved into our garage when both our parents moved out of their homes. We organized some, labelled, boxed and stored, then finished moving the remains from a storage unit...the garage is full again. Hopefully, we will get the work done quickly and get some of the junk sold. If not....here we come Salvation Army.

lc - Great to hear that you are doing well. Curves will help. Take care and stay OP. You are already doing the water and non-sugar drinks. Keep it up.

soon2B - My weight is up, too. I am back to Phase 1 this week to take the extra pounds off. If I don't do something quickly, I know the weight will get away from me. I am still in my small clothes, but I think I will need to reconsider the clothing issue if I gain much more. However, I am scheduled for surgery at the end of the month, and the dr. told me that I will probably lose between 10 and 15 pounds. I'll take the weight loss any way that I can get it, but that isn't my preference.

taz - You have been busy with the renos, too. WTG. You need to send pics of your flooring. I always love to see the work that other do. It is so inspirational.

mrscharleston - You should probably refrain from going to visit parents until the pageant... But, you can do this. Hope the added weight comes off quickly this week.

Bamiegurl - Hope your mom's stress test goes well. I think you were smart to stay put instead of the driving. DH will get over it. Take care.

Me - I have been busy the past couple of days. Running DM back and forth to the hospital. Hopefully today will be the last check with the surgeon, then it will be to the cancer clinic for follow up treatment.

DH and I went to a Kids with Cancer fundraiser on Saturday night. This is the second one that we have been to, and so much fun. The kids who are cancer survivors take a really active part and there is so much for them to do. It's fun just watching them participating and enjoying themselves. At the auction that evening, I bought 2 gardening books by Lois Hole. I thought it would be the last chance to get autographed books by her. She spoke at the event last year..sad that she was not able to be there this year.

Everyone, eat your hearts out. I finished my Christmas shopping on Saturday. This is even a record for me. I have never finished before the end of March before. I usually set my goal for the beginning of July, but have even out doen that goal. I am thinking that I should get the wrapping done before the end of May, then I will just have decorating and baking to do.

Hope everyone is doing well. Take care.

Default Hello

Wow, what a quiet bunch today! Where is everyone?

Sunshine today, blue skies, still cold, but the snow is melting....I might survive!

Been being a good chick on the diet, the pounds are slow in coming off. I'm a bit discouraged about that. The first time around it seemed that it melted off, now that I"m trying to re-lose them it's like they're saying "uhm, we're not sure you're serious about this so we hanging around" I do need to increase the water intake.

Bami, hope your mom's test goes well.

mrscharleston, what pageant? Did I miss details? Good luck!

tazcat, can't think of anything I'd rather be doing than laying on the floor all day cutting off the bottom of the doors.....except maybe a root canal!

littlechick, when you're done with your housework, could you come on over?

anchor, good for you getting a helper! Hopefully it will make it great for you.

soon2B, ya, bosses....who needs 'em?

Barb, you sound way busy. How great of you to be involved with scouts.

beachbum, sun shining.........ahhhhhhhh~!

cottage, sounds like your weekend was so nice! Grandma's RULE!

ellis, I hope you're planning on having a party at your house when that kitchen is done!

Ruth, you are such an early bird!....or chick! Hope you get your extra time, sounds like you have fun things planned if you get it!

Off to go for a run, ya'll behave!

Good morning all.

I blew it this weekend, I think I just need to go back to Phase 1 again. Went to the outlets (not too many good buys, but I did get a few things) and then we went out to Appleby's afterwards. We were all so hungry by the time we got to the table I got the Oreo cookie shake and we shared the spinach artichoke dip and chips and instead of ordering off the Weight Watchers menu, I order the Take Two w/ ribs and fried shrimp. I didn't get the mashed potatoes though - got steamed veggies and coleslaw - but the damage was already done.

I can't function on SBD outside of home! Especially when I'm starving and have to get something in my system fast! P

Chickies, I've been trying to get in here all morning, but it seems like one crisis after another over here.

Ellis, no matter how long it takes you to level the silly appliances, it still won't be as long as it takes me to write this paper. Does that make you feel better? I've got 28 pages of notes, and I'm only done with 14 of my 36 references. I've got 2 weeks from today to write it....

Have a great day, chickies...stay OP and know that I'm thinking of you and sending lots of great vibes your way! :
