Default Weekend on the Beach 03/12-13

Don't fall out of your sand chairs, Chicks, yes it's little old me...

Golly I've missed you all! Haven't even been able to sneak in to keep up with who's new and who's doing what.

So, how've you all been?

I'm still hanging in there. Finally got a name for the monster that's attacked my body. Everyone say a big hello to Mr. Fibro Myalgia. Looks like he's here to stay, yet another unwanted guest in the house...sort of like You-Know-Who.

But at least I have some meds and other strategies to combat him. I may get to cut the nursing home duties down to 4 or even 3 days a week, which would allow me to get more rest.

Right now, I'd settle for being able to keep my butt in bed past sunrise on the weekends!

Hope everyone has a great day on the Beach!

Mamacita! So nice to see you! Mwa, mwa, mwa! So why isn't your butt in bed this morning? You working? I'm sorry Mr FM has moved in but glad you have meds to keep the bugger shut up. You know who is still with you? We may need to call in the heavy chick artillery.

We are sort of misty this morning. It looks like a spring fog until you realize it's frost crystals hanging in the air. The Girls came in "frosted" this morning and looked quite pretty. My new coffee and cuddle routine is working well for the three of us: they get right up on the couch after breakfast, ready to watch TV with me. We caught a farm show this morning which was a big hit - barking dogs and lowing cattle. Anyone looking into my house would think I am a real nutcase.

Not much on the agenda today. I have the Church bulletin to finish and print and really have to get my act together with all the stuff I've been putting off or forgetting or ignoring. My sewing room is a mess again, the basement is still pretty chaotic and that wallpaper border is still not up in the kitchen and we painted in November! Sometimes I think I need a boss to get me going - a thumb in the bum sort of boss!

But first.....another coffee, treadmill and then a bath

Hi Ladies,

Pretty new to the Beach; still learning my way around. I have been doing SBD for 4.5 wks and lost 12 lbs. However, this weekend is "off course". Yesterday was my daughters' first Bday. We had pizza for dinner, man do I miss that!!! I had two slices and cut them in half, then I picked the cheese off another slice to eat that!! Today, we are having family over for a little party. i am the only one in the crowd doing SBD: I have some safe snacks for me to get through the day (pepperoni & cheese, peanuts). I do plan to have a piece of cake to celebrate the day. Back on track tomorrow!!! I don't consider this falling off the wagon, just feeling the grass with my feet!!

My weigh in is Monday morning.

Hope everyone is doing well this weekend.

Hey, 12 pounds is good in that length of time! Congratulations!
You know, this is a lifestyle plan, not a diet. Things like pizza are enjoyable and we should never feel deprived. You made good choices and will be fine. Enjoy your weekend!

Good Morning Chicks

Not doing to much over the weekend. Resting & relaxing, drinking lots of coffee & reading my book"Midnight is a Lonely Place" by Barbara Erskine

Mamacita Sorry to hear about your MF. Good wishes are going out to you

Ruth I really need a big cup of Java this A.M. We had snow:sman: with freezing rain and the streets are icy. Hate going out in the ice as I slipped once and hurt my spinal bone. Hope it better out tomorrow as I sing in our churchs choir and we're so close to Holy Week and I have to get to the rehearsals I know I should stop my whinning and just live with it.....

JP Big Congrats on your 12 lb weigh loss. You're doing excellent. Keep up the good work.

Have beachy day Hugs BB

Morning!

Ruth You need to hire my mom. She is coming over again this morning to continue the oraganization of my home- she loves doing it. She has dubbed herself my "project manager".

Other than that, the in-laws are coming over for dinner. They only live about 20 minutes away and we only see them about once a month. Pretty bad of us, I know- they always want us to go over there and it is just a depressing place to be. So, they are coming to us- DD has plenty to do and keep entertained. I think I am going to roast a chicken, do a spinach salad, and some other sort of side dish. It is supposed to be gorgeous here today, (sorry to you northerners) so a spring-like meal is in order.

Later chickies!

Default It's been awhile!

Hi ya'll! I've missed everyone, there are so many threads and posts I know I'll never catch up.

It's been too busy for words so I won't say them. Needless to say it's nice to sit. Getting ready to go for a run......so relaxing. We've been teased with some spring like weather, but today looks like snow............blech!

Sorry Mama about the Dx. Sounds like time to think of YOU and how to stay well.

Ruth you shoulda taken a picture of the frosty pups, sounds cute.

Kiko, can your mom be my project manager? PLEEEEZZZZZZZZZ???

beachbum, sorry about the back pain, hugs to you! Maybe you can sing for us? I'd love that!

jpleonard, 12 pounds??? WOW! You should be proud of yourself!

soon2B, sorry about the snow, I'm ready for grass and dirt!

Well, I'm off to get stuff done! Love to you all!!!

Hello chickies,

Mamacita and RNMOM both back on the same day - yeeha! Good to 'see' you. Sorry to hear about the Dx Mamacita.

Ruth - frosted pups sounds tooo cuute!

jp - welcome to the beach.

The weather here today has been c-R-a-Z-y man! In the am is was snowing but warm, then a bit later it was sunny and cool, then it was grey and windy, and now its back to sunny, but ominous in the background. Hmmm, is that some sort of March Madness?

My poor DH had to drive an hour away to Frankfurt airport today to pick up his Dad at 7:00 am and when he got there he found out the flight had been re-routed/delayed and wouldn't arrive until 12:30pm. Well, 12:30 rolls around and no Dad, so he calls me at home but I haven't heard anything. He checks all the info points/places/desks he can but all they can say is "we have a policy not to confirm passengers - blah, blah."
So we have telephone tag about every 30 minutes until 4pm when he says "I give up I'm coming home but will check one more time." Lo and behold here's dad, NINE HOURS LATE, and the first words out of his mouth were - never fly USAir!! Dad and his luggage must have gotten separated because I got a phone call from the airline about delivering the pieces later. It's now 5:30 and they should be home soon. Poor guys. What a day. I know they are pissed off and pooped.

I wanted to buy some salad fixins today but the specimens were small and the price was large. ARRGGHH!

Have a good weekend, SBeachers!

Abroad...Oh my goodness your poor DH and his dad! That is aweful! Glad it all turned out ok!

RNMOM...Glad to see ya among us!

I am so tired! My eyes are like 2 fire balls! I am off to bed for now! I'll check y'all chicks later!

Mamacita, I'm so sorry about the FM. It'll be a rough haul for you, but you sound so upbeat about the situation. What a strong woman you are.
Take good, gentle care of yourself. I'll be keeping you in my prayers, sweetie.

Ruth, it's going up to 0 today! I was out in the country yesterday, and the trees looked lovely in silver. (although I'd much prefer to see them in green)

Soon2b, I hope you're having a good weekend! Retail... oh, how do you DO it! Some customers are so nasty. (okay, and so are some sales people. )

jpleonard, Ruth is right... this is a lifestyle. You're doing so well, girl. Get back on track tomorrow... we'll be here for you!

Beach bum we don't mind the occasional whinge here. I do hope your back is better today, hon. Enjoy church today!

Karen, how was dinner with the in-laws last night? I know what you mean... we don't go to DH's mother's house to eat any more. We just can't stand it. It's such a horrific mess in there. She refuses to throw anything out. She even keeps broken elastics and uses them to tie around things. Like dirty old incomplete packs of playing cards. We've all offered to help her "clear up", but that offends her, so we've stopped trying.

RNMom, are you running?! Wow... I didn't know! Do you run on the treadmill, or outside?

A broad, I'm so sorry about your DH and his Dad! That must have been worrisome, not to mention tiring!!

Bamie, how are you doing, sweetie? How's the heartburn? I take something called Pantoloc for mine. It works pretty well, when I remember to take it. Sometimes I wake up in the night coughing and sputting for air. It's a horrible experience.
Thinking of you, hon... keep us posted on how you're doing.

So, I'm wearing this long, flowing, retro/50ish "house gown". It's beige and brown with gold threads running through it, and looks, I think, rather elegant. When I put it on last night, DH said to me, "Do you like that? It looks sort of dowdy." When I put my hands on my hips and gave him a steely look, he hastily said, "It looks very cozy, though!"
Geez... I thought I looked devastatingly gorgeous in this thing!

Not much going on around here - Hershey and I are off to Church shortly. We may go out to lunch at the Long Horn today - veggie burger and salad for me. (I had a bad experience with some chocolate chunk cookies last night and just threw out 2/3 of the package. They were free when I visited the Superstore last week and I could just not resist them!)

I'm running a bit late so will pop in later after I've been "churched".

Morning chicks just sitting here enjoying the quiet and a cup of tea. DD's are both still at friends houses til this afternoon and dh is out painting for a friend. So I figure I will enjoy the peace while I can. It was such a busy week end. Friday night I joined Curves but was a little dispointed I didn't get to exercise my app was for 7 so by the time I got done all the questions, weigh in, measurments, and getting my fat% there was no time to exercise. So I go back Monday night to get my tour through the equipment. Then I ended up working on dance routines til 11. Sat was full of dance then we had a puppy play date at a friends house then we ended up having a few friends back to our place. I drank tea and water all night. So the quiet is great.

Mama so glad to see you back posting sorry about the FM. Take good care of yourself.

Abroad Your poor DFIL and DH hope they are well rested today.

RNMom good to see you back posting as well. It is crazy when you miss time and then try to catch up. Take care.

Kiko I could use your mom right about now as well, I have a million things to do before I start this new job on wed.

beachbum hope you are enjoying your book. I wish I had time to start one.

Ruth- your new morning routine sounds wonderful. Enjoy.

Ellis your gown sounds lovely. MEN, they just don't know when to keep their mouths shut.

Well I must go try to accomplish something before the troupes land. And I have to teach again today and scoot to the meat market on my way home so we can eat this week. I need to try to plan plan plan I need to try to mange my time better so that I can have my gym time. I think I am going to put me on the top of the list for awhile. Have a great day chicks.
