You beat me! Pass me a cup too, please, ellis. Mamacita, I have been up since 5 which used to be 6. The first few days always throw me!

Gail comes this morning and I've not yet done my tidying! Oy! But I have run the dishwasher and done two loads of towels!

Halloween seemed quiet although we had the same number of kids as last year. I did eat one small bag of chips. The rest will go to the Food Bank later today! My very favourite little kids came to visit early with their parents. I love it when they still have that magic look on their faces and can't figure out why they are getting all the loot! By seven, all was quiet in the neighbourhood. Lucy greeted everyone at the door wearing her big orange bow. She thought all the company was great and didn't bark even at the gruesome costumes. By the way, I hate the blood and gore and horror type costumes. Give me pirates and gyspsies and fairy princesses instead!

Crappy rehearsal yesterday as the leading man did not show - again! We have a big problem here! I don't think the Director is ready to pull the plug but we are all really worried. Two weeks from today it will all be over! Um....no, I still don't know my lines. Pray for me!

Gotta go. I'll be back later for the October Results and to start consolidating the November goals.

Good Morning!
The time change is messing me up too. Have been up at 4 am past 2 days.
I'd love to say I spent the time exercising or something good, but instead spent it reading or at computer. We all need a little down time, right?
Was a great weekend for me--besdies a dreadful sleepover for my daughter. For the first time I got lots of compliments on my weight loss and boy does that feel good. And my clothes are starting to fall off so today I am doing some shopping. Maybe just some jeans at a second hand place as I don't plan on wearing this new size for long.
Hope everyone had a great weekend and a happy candyless halloween!

Oh, man, you should SEE the candy in this house!! Don't kids go out anymore?! Six years ago we had about 200 come to the door, and this year we had maybe 20. And half of those were big teenagers. Two of whom smeared their hands and faces down the window in my door in an attempt to be "frightening". I felt like handing them a rag and a bottle of Windex.

Jane, you're doing great with the weight loss!

Just heading off to see my shrink... hope everyone has a wonderful day!

Good Morning all!

SBJane... I have been buying jeans from the thrift store as well because I am not making a big investment in any of these sizes I am goin through! Which we have some good ones here and hopefully can find some nice jeans like I have been when I get to the size I want to be. It's always nice when people notice your loss as much as they notice your gains! I had a few peeps over the weekend comment to me about my weight loss and made me feel good.

Ruth... Maybe you need to pay a visit to the lead and straighten him out! hahaha I'm so glad you and Lucy had a good time with the visitors!

Mamacits... Here's to a good weigh in tomorrow but I am sure you don't need it since you have been dropping the past few days already!

Ellis... Oh it is so good to have you back and starting up the thread even! Can you refill my cup while your up I'm empty! You should have gave them a rag! UGH!

Well my Mom came home with me for the week. We are goin grocery shopping today so it should be a good week on the beach! I am serious this month cause I want my outfit for the wedding to be atleast a 10. I wear a 10 jean but 12 dress cause I'm waht ya call a lil hippy chick! hahaha I was just so excited to have the 14 (smallest size they had) falling off! Well I have got to hop in the shower make out my Wally World list and get laundry goin! Toooo much to do today! Have a great day all!

Morning Chickies,

I lost another 2 pounds forever, but missed my goal by 2. I didn't help that my mom made ham last night. It was soooo good! But I know I'm paying for all the salt. You know that - I know - if I just would have exercised this wouldn't be an issue. This month I'm on it!!!! I set my goal at 10 again and I want to make it! I can smell the onederland and I want to be there.

Got to tell you guys I made the overnight slaw and it really helped the morning sweet tooth thing. It is a Phase 2 recipe in the cookbook but it is a great way to get veggies into my breakfast. I had two quiche cups and a bowl of the coleslaw. I find the more veggies I crank in the more weight I lose.

SBJane - I buy my pants at Walmart. I bought Lee jeans in 4 different fall colors (brown/black/grey/tan) for under 50 bucks. I just pair them up with nice tops and sweaters. We have a really nice consignment store here where all the "ladies with money" sell their clothes and I find the prices are still outragous!

Have a great beach day!

We had no trick or treaters show up! And there were only a few houses giving out candy. We went to a different street and Brian got lots of candy. I've done good staying away from it so far. As long the chocolate stays out of sight, I can avoid it. Brian wanted to know why people don't give out books for Halloween. At least I wouldn't have to worry about eating it!

Good morning everyone. So glad that everyone survived Halloween in one piece...and resisted the temptation of the candy. That was not so with me. I decided that, since I have not had any candy or treats for the past few months, I would treat myself with a couple of pieces of chocolate. And that's what I did. I actually stopped when I ate the amount that I permitted myself. However, the whole weekend was a bust - one problem after another all weekend.

Ellis - Make sure that the candy is put out of sight. I haven't done that yet at my house, but if the big kids in the house don't put it away by the time I get home tonight, it will go into the bottom of the freezer. Come to think of that, I probably have Halloween candy there from last year. Also, don't forget to count the window cleaning as exercise...

Mama - Good luck on the weigh-in. You have been doing awesome with the weight loss. Keep up the great work.

Ruth - I missed the day that Lucy came home and haven't gotten back to read the posts yet. It is so good that she is home now. I had our 2 dogs last night. One of them is still pretty much puppy, so wasn't sure what was going on, but she had a great time greeting the kids and barking at the scary ones. I had ours dressed up like a devil and an angel...the devil is pretty docile and the angel is the monstor. We had a great time with them, though.

Jane - The time change is messing me up, too. DH and I showed up at a brunch yesterday an hour early. Go figure. However, it gave us an hour's down time to hit the Starbucks and have a good coffee. Congrats on the weight loss. I scour the second hand shops all the time to buy clothes...not just for interim sizes. I started with interim sizes, but find that there are some really good deals at them, and you can get very good quality items. My wardrobe now isn't entirely secondhand clothes, but I don't think that there are many weeks that I don't wear a secondhand piece of clothing to work...and get complements on it.

Bamiegurl - I know that you will be able to get to a size 10 for the wedding. Keep focused this month and you will do it. Sounds like you will be stocking up on the OP foods. That will help to keep you on track.

Anchor - Can empathize with you on missing goal...I missed by 2 pounds, too. Oh well, today is a new day and I will soon get those pounds off. You keep with it, too. You are already doing so well.

Barb - Yes, you can do it. Keep that candy away and it will help. I have to get rid of mine, too, so that it won't be a temptation for me. I really want to get to my goal, so will need to be diligent in following program.

Me - Well, it was a trying weekend for us, to say the least. We took one of our cars to Calgary to have some work done - $3600. DH's husband did most of the labour, so that was a help, but it really did need a lot of work. We plan to give the old thing to our DD, so want it in good shape before we take it to her. We haven't driven it for so long, we had forgotten how bad it really was.

Then we went to check in on our apartment. Someone had left all the windows open and turned the heat off. The realtor checked it after we took possession and there was not problem then, but obviously, someone has been in the apartment since that time. AND, while we were closing windows and turning on the heat, one of the neighbours had our car towed. Welcome to the world of city living. What is much more frustrating is that he has 2 city bylaw infractions in his front yard... Hmmm does that give someone evil ideas?

By the time we got the car out of impound, the day was pretty much toast. But, we did celebrate our anniversary at the top of the tower in the revolving restaurant. It was a great evening and as much OP as I could make it. When I ordered no potatoes and extra vegetables, the waiter told us that he was from New Brunswick and there they order no vegetables and extra potatoes.

On Sunday, we went to meet DH's twin brother and their family for brunch. Oh yeah, we got there an hour early.

Then, on the way home we blew the transmission in the car. Just icing on an already deplorable weekend. However, we did come back to an emptier house, since DH (hmmm that's an interesting Freudian slip - should be DS) and his girlfriend moved out while we were away.

I did gain 2 pounds over the weekend, so it is back to phase 1 for me this week. I was careful most of the time, and did exercise a couple of times, but not as much exercise as I would have done if home...and more off program foods than if I were home, too. So, the 2 pounds isn't too bad. It is still within the 5 pound allowance that I plan to give myself when I reach goal. I would just like to reach goal before I start using the 5 pound weight allowance. That will come and I am hoping that it will be this week.

I have an appointment with the specialist tomorrow, so please keep me in your prayers.

Hope everyone has a great OP week. This has taken me a while to type, so if I have missed anyone, hi to you all. Take care.

We had about 20 trick or treaters. All pretty young. I had the cutest little boy come to the door, dressed as a jack-o-latern. He kept saying "HO, HO, HO." His dad kept prompting him to say trick or treat and the little guy kept saying "ho, ho, ho" even as he walking down the street to the next house you could hear him repeating it. Never had a Santa pumpkin before.

Sweet tooth: gotta say, you have an interesting DH. He certainly gets around too. "DH's husband did most of the labour" and "However, we did come back to an emptier house, since DH and his girlfriend moved out while we were away" (just teasing)

Sounds like you had the weekend from H...LL! Why on earth would your neighbor have your car towed after just a few minutest? There have been studies that say stress can trigger weight gain, and you definately have the stress this weekend on top of everything else. Yuck!

All we can do is laugh at the things that happen to us. Everywhere we go, there is some kind of disaster or another...we have been snowed-in in June, we have experienced floods, earthquakes, the Middle East in September 2001, etc. We have friends that call us each year to find out where we are going on vacation - just so they can plan NOT to be there.

Anyone wanna know where we are going this year?

Sweettooth---I too was thinking you DH seemd very interesting with a husband and a girlfriend..LOL. SOunds like quite the weekend. Glad you survived, I would have been in tears the whole time. Not to mention wrapping myself in chocolate.
thanks all who encouraged me to check out the second hand shops. I never did make it there today. Will try for later this week. And I will have to check out Wallieworlds jeans too. 4 pairs for less than 50$ sounds right up my alley.
