I found whole wheat couscous at Trader Joes over the weekend. So maybe a store near you will have it. Sometimes if you ask your store manager they will order special things, if they feel there would be a demand for it.

Sarah, can I tell you how jealous I am of your being near a Trader Joe's?

I'll keep looking here...I bet someone in Ithaca has it.

At my Krogers, the couscous is next to the rice. We usually buy Near East brand. Tomato Lentil is GOOD! They also carry it in the organic section.

Tomato Lentil is good! Yum! They have great couscous. Unfortunately, no WW...at least so far. I'm hoping to find one somewhere nearby.

How much lower GI would ww couscous be versus regular couscous? It might be made from whole wheat flour, but it is still ground up into little bitty pindrops. The lower it is ground, the higher on the scale it gets. I read somewhere an explanation like that. A whole baked potato is lower GI than sliced scalloped potatoes, and then mashed potatoes having an even higher GI. Who knows if that is true or not! I think I read that on Mercola.

Anyway, I'm not suggesting you cheat! I'm mostly just thinking outloud!
