Yes, I started before reading the book. Prevention has several articles along with the foods to enjoy list. I had read several other books talking about the effects of sugar and low glycemic index foods and such. So I was already familiar with the concept. I just wasn't ready to give up dairy and sweets completely like some other books suggest.
I printed out the list of foods to enjoy and avoid, and as I was reading I thought "hmm, I have these foods in the house now. I wonder if I can do this?" So I sort of stumbled into it. I put a hold on it at the library, it was a very popular book in January, I was something like 258 people in line. Hmm. well I was patient and finally got read it in April. My sister bought me the book and told me to stop being so cheap.
I can't imagine what you could do wrong, you have this board with all the great advice and information. Just stick to the foods to enjoy list and take it day by day.
