OK, I've been reading alot about milk being beneficial for weight loss. Does anyone know if it has to be milk, or if dairy products in general (in my case specifically cheese) is just as beneficial? I never drink milk but I eat gobs of cheese in every form.
Well, cheese has gobs of fat sometimes unless it's fat free. You might be better off with the daily milk allowance. Check out the calcium content of cheese compared to milk using www.fitday.com. It's the calcium that helps weightloss.

Yeah, I posted last week about my saturated fat concerns and all the cheese and muts I'm eating. I'm trying to cut back a bit since cheese is part of almost every meal and all my snacks - yikes! My problem is that I dislike most veges and I absolutley hate them raw, so it's hard to find a snack that is OP other than jello. But I have cut back a bit and for things like cottage cheese I'm going with non fat rather than low fat even tho it does have a few more grams of carbs.
There are plenty of yogurts and low fat ice creams on the market that are low fat AND low sugar. For some reason Dr A doesn't recommend ice cream but can't understand this because the fat content is lower than cheese.
Canned fish is another good source of calcium - especially the bones. My mother is allergic to dairy so eats major amounts of canned salmon to get her calcium.
