Default fat free-sugar free coffee mixes??

hi eveyone, just would like some feedback on fat free sugar free instant coffee mixes, like cappucino or the international coffee series.. i read the label and it seems ok, but just want people's opinion.

Also, any suggestions on sugar free latte or cappucino.

any help would be appreciate!

rkworth Per the Good Fats Good Carbs Guide it says limited on these. I'm like you I like them as well didn't see anything on the label but checked the book and found that they should be limited. As far as the sf latte or capp are concerned I have no idea. I'll be waitin for info on that myself.

While we're in this area, is there a difference between "SUGAR FREE" and "NO ADDED SUGAR" ? I think it's not the same thing, and on SBD, sugar free is the way to go. I have been arguing with my SBD buddies about it.

Any opinions?

I read the box and usually can tell if there's added sugar, by the corn syrup of sugar like ingredients, but sometimes it's hard to tell what weirdly named ingredients mean sugar.

So as a rule of thumb, does "No Added Sugar" mean "Sugar Free?"

Thanks ladies!

At a guess I would say that 'no added sugar' would mean there was plenty of sugar in the product already and they have added no extra. 'Sugar free' would mean there was not sugar in it. So a pineapple has 'no added sugar' but is not 'sugar free'.

Yup! All those sneaky -oses and -ols are sugar in disguise too!
Latte? Why not just make your own instead of buying the mix? Same with cappucino?
I really think we should avoid mixes and eat naturally as much as possible but then, I'm an old-fashioned broad, who even makes her own stocks!

Ruth - that's a good point about the processed foods. When I last started Phase 1, last month, I had some of the SF jello. Well, it made me crave sweets like a maniac! So, this time I am trying Phase 1 without a lot of diet soda or diet-anything. Being allowed to have some milk will make it easier, as I love decaf lattes.

If you look at the labels for the SF / FF International Coffees, you will see that one of the first ingredients is partially hydrogenated oil - transfat! We should be steering clear of these. It seems to be in almost anything I look at.

Most of the SF/FF cocoas have these, too. Watch out!

thank you for the input, I knew it was too good to be true.. i need to be better about watching for the sneaky ways sugar can get into things. I am on fourth week and it seems to be going well. I did not know about the partially hydrogented oil.. i will add that to my list of warning I do say I miss the latte and cappucino, so if anyone has found let me know.

I agree with reducing processed foods, but i do not hace a recipe for home made latte or cappucino, sounds silly I know, but any suggestions?
