I found a bit of information about SomerSweet...apparently it is 5 times sweeter than sugar, so you would only use 1/5 the amount if replacing sugar. Since Splenda measures like sugar, I would think you could use the same formula?

Hope this helps....let us know how it works out!

I have a can of Somersweet and there is an equivalency chart on the can.

1/4 teaspoon Somersweet = 1 teaspoon of sugar

3/4 teaspoon Somersweet = 1 tablespoon of sugar

2 1/2 teaspoons Somersweet = 1/4 cup of sugar

1 tablespoon Somersweet = 1/3 cup of sugar

5 teaspoons Somersweet = 1/2 cup of sugar

3 tablespoons Somersweet = 1 cup of sugar

You can use Splenda in place of the sugar. I've done it and everything comes out ok.

Hope this helps.
