Default Bad Days at the Beach DAILY Sunday

What do you do when your perfect day all of a sudden turns "ugly"?

You start to hear the kitchen call your name, and then you get up and GO.
You eat.
You binge.
You enjoy it all!

This WILL happen to you.

You are not a bad person for doing this, nor should you give up.

It is ONE day. One slip. One temptation that you gave in to.

FORGIVE yourself. If you journal, write about the why's.

Next time, have a plan.
Walk away.
Walk to the telephone and call a friend.
Exercise.
Come here and post.

DO ANYTHING that awill keep you from that temptation.

If you HAVE to have it....try the 3 bite rule.

Know however, that this is okay. Truly it is.

How can I say that?

Because we are human. We sometimes have too much to handle and we come back to what comforts us.

We are learning to replace food with other things, but sometimes we "need" this comfort.

When all is said and done.........we will find that we really did NOT need this, we only thought that we did and then we realize that we have grown.

Sometimes a slip is an eye opener.

Be brave.
Be mindful.
Be happy.

And I thought that some of MY days were bad.......hugs for the kitty.

Default hi

hey everyone! i'm getting a little confused as where to post, so this is where i landed. i had a very hectic week and have not had a chance to get back since my first post. i lost 2.5 on my first week of sbd. i was satisfied because i went astray a little and it was my own doings.

marcie- thanks for the warm welcoming message and thanks for the drowned kitty and the inspirational tip. i really appreciate it.

after 1.5 weeks on this sbd, i was beginning to feel nauseated and very tired. i started having oatmeal at nite and it seems to make my feel better. i was wondering if this might have been a side effect of this phase???

have a good sunday everyone!

So true, so true! It's amazing what a change of attitude has done for me. Before, if I slipped, I would give up. Well, I screwed up, my diet's over, might as well quit... but now, I tell myself that tomorrow is a new day and I can hop right back on the wagon. Sure, it's not good to eat a bunch of junk food, but one day of cheating is better than a lifetime of unhealthy decisions! I cheated a little last week, hubby made a strawberry cake (an entire cake, and there is only the two of us and the baby, meaning that he is the only one to eat it) and it's been taunting me on the counter while he's at work. Finally I just couldn't take it anymore, I had a sliver and it was a little disappointing. Not as good as I thought it would be -- I could've gone without it. Oh well. :-D

Harmony-But you figured that out with a sliver instead of eating a whole big piece!! And next time if you take a bite and think, "This isn't good enough to eat the extra sugar and calories." you will throw out the rest of the piece. I think you did well!! Sometimes if i am feeling taunted like that I will ask DH to take the rest to work with him.
