Pearlrose I have thought about working out before work, but the realization of cold weather coming stops me lol. I know there is no way I am getting up, de-icing the car, bundling up and going to the gym. lol YouTube does have some great work out videos.
Debbie I'm happy you will get to enjoy the cabin. I'm sure you will spruce it up to your liking. I don't feel guilty eating potatoes either. If it comes from nature it can't be that bad for you.
Beth I too struggle with the meal planning. Especially living alone its not really a priority. Although I do like to eat lol
Thank you for all the kind works for DS. YES at 6'4 he makes me look short. He texted me last night to let me know he leaves for Airborn on the 11th. He lucked out and got a spot in the next class. I told him to get to the UPS store on base today and send home anything he cannot bring with him. I said he could use the emergency credit card as I can only imagine how expensive it will be.
Today's plan includes going to the gym. The hardest part was walking through the door yesterday. It did feel good using some of the wight machines. Otherwise its getting myself organized for the week and the usual chores. Tomorrow Joe is coming down and I'm not sure what we will do.
Scale is back down to pre-pre trip weight. I didn't gain while I was gone, but that is no accomplishment since I was up lol. Now to lose those 6 pounds I committed to. I have my annual OBGYN appointment next month. I want to weigh less than last year. I am stubborn and refuse to let these peri menopause hormones win!!! LOL
Just got done with my yoga and now sitting down to healthy breakfast. Not sure what is on the agenda today, DD2 has nothing going on this weekend with Marching band and DD1 works tonight so we cannot set up her place. I am taking a week off from projects around the house so just need to do normal cleaning and laundry might tackle getting some stuff out of DD1 old room. I would like to go pumpkin picking but 80s and humidity are not really fall to me.
Jekel I am with you I refuse to give in to the hormones, I was hoping the scale would still be down today and it is so here's to another day of op eating. I do not like to do meal planning in advance, I just stock up on healthy and then decide what sounds good for that day, though I do struggle sometimes with what do I want to make (in other words don't really feel like cooking lol)
DH and I got up and took a walk right after breakfast; we managed to beat the rain so I am happy. I was hoping to pull the dead cukes and tomato plants today but we shall see if the weather cooperates. If not then I have plenty of indoor chores to do.
I am trying to stay OP as well although it is harder for me on the weekends. On work days there is no food available for snacking! I have Monday off so I am going to make mini-quiche and maybe some almond flour muffins. If I make a batch of each I will be good for 2 work weeks. I also picked up a Weight Watchers crockpot recipes magazine at the store today so I am going to study that for ideas. It is getting to be soup and stew time.
Pearlrose 80 and humid definitely no fall weather! LOL
Beth keep us posted if you find any SB crockpot recipes
Debbie hope you had some down time yesterday.
Three days OP and the scale did a nice swoosh yesterday. Well today it jumped up 2 pounds ugh. I did get a lot done yesterday which felt good. Even made time for an at home mani pedi. I need to make an appointment with the foot doctor. I have a weird thing going on by my pinky toe. I keep getting a painful burning sensation. It's just bizarre lol.
I did make a meatless shepherds pie yesterday and Mexican stuffed peppers. Red peppers were on sale for 99 cents a pound. Lunch this week will be soup with a hard boiled egg. I'm still eating a plant based diet but found I really missed hard boiled eggs lol. Veggies and hummus will be for snacks. Honey crisp apples will be my "treat" with NSA PB. Now to stick with the plan. The stress of knowing how hard DS will be working for this training the least I can do is not give in to my own weaknesses.
After coffee will hit the gym and hopefully be home and dressed before Joe gets here . My arms are sore from yesterday which shows me how much work my "bat wings" need lol.
Yesterday turned out to be VERY productive. I cleaned up the veggie garden including harvesting some carrots I had forgotten about as well as parsley and oregano. I froze the herbs. I found a great technique where you just compress them into a zipper bag, roll them up and secure with a rubber band. Then when you need some you just unroll and cut off a slice. Oh and then I washed and waxed the car which was WAY overdue. DH even touched up a little paint chip for me.
Today will be groceries and making those quiches. I was also thinking about making a SF cheesecake to put into the freezer for nights when DH and I can't tell our sweet tooth "no".
Jennifer, I have a hard time believing you have "bat wings"! As far as the scale mine has also been doing a boomerang thing. I just figure if it is swinging by 2-3 pounds overnight it has to be mostly water.
Debbie, I suspect you are off to work this morning. Hope things are getting back into a routine for you.
Pearlrose, I would like to go get some winter squash and pumpkins now that the weather has broken. Hope you have a relaxing day today.
Well yesterday it rained all afternoon, so I stayed inside and did laundry and did get some of DD2 old room picked up, once she gets the rest of her stuff out I can finish but I am starting to be able to see the floor lol. My parents live in Gulfport but they let me know they were okay from Hurricane Nate, it's pretty fast moving though so that is good. Today is still going to be in the mid 80's not sure when the weather is going to break here, I am still wearing flip flops.
Jekel I have bat wings so I know what you mean lol and I hate how the scale will do that just jump by 2 to 3 lbs and even though it's water weight it takes about 3 to 4 days to get rid of it. I was still op yesterday even though I was looking at stuff I didn't touch trying to be good over the weekend.
Beth I was thinking of making some natural peanut butter cookies for when I am craving sweets. I won't tell you what DH has in the house....
Debbie hope you were able to get all the prep work for the freeze taking care
Ruth saw you on the weight loss post, hope you have a great time on your Holiday.
Good morning, chicks. I have the day off from school. It is pouring outside so I will putter around and do some inside chores.
I ended up making a low sugar apple crisp yesterday since we had picked several buckets of apples from our trees. I use the splenda brown sugar and then made the crumble topping from almonds, oatmeal and Smart Balance. Delicious. I also sliced and spiced apples for pie filling for the holidays and froze that. I have tried to freeze pies ahead of time but sometimes the crust gets soggy.
It is a foggy morning here, I did my workout inside this morning. Today is wfh for me, DD2 is off from school today so it was less hectic here in the a.m. She spent the night at a friends house. Lots of conference calls for me, I managed to stay op all weekend so that was an accomplishment for me even though we went to Six Flags yesterday for a bit.
I'm at work. It's our first snow of the year so it's pretty boring. Fortunately, I opened so I get to leave early today. Sorry I haven't been around for a few days. I had a commitment to watch my friends a very old dog while she drove to South Dakota them back. It ended up being a huge chore. He was very stressed out. She has figured out she will not leave him again. I woke up at 10:30 last night he was super restless and having some issues. I set up with him for about an hour. Then she called me at 3:30 in the morning and came and picked him up. I didn't want to get woken up but I was glad to see him go home. We also had company from Alaska after I got home from work yesterday. I have decided tomorrow is a day of rest. I will see you all then!
Debbie glad you have tomorrow to relax. You certainly need it.
Beth I love your idea about freezing the apple pie filling. You could even use them to make apple crisp.
Pearlrose great job staying OP all weekend....no comment for me lol
Yesterday we went to Angry Orchard and Baldwin vineyard followed by a dinner made entirely of food porn. We went with Meredith and her BF. Lots of laugh. Felt good to just spend time with people I care about. Oh Joe and I also went to a bakery for coffee, couldn't resist their biscotti.
Today I was super good and even went to the gym. That's 4 days in a row. Now just relaxing with my apple and grapes. I guess they are my substitutes for cider donuts and wine LOL
Pearlrose and Beth my triceps have been deflated for my adult life. Even with all the push ups I did in the academy my triceps were floppy. Well I know they are still in there as my arms feel sore. I always feel self conscious if I wear something sleeveless. Yet when I look around and see so many people of all shapes and sizes wearing them, I have to get over myself lol.....not easy!
Starting off my morning at home and then off to one of the hospitals for a meeting and then into work for a couple of meetings. DD2 has practice this evening and other than that nothing else on the agenda.
Jekel I can completely understand as I am the same way, I hate having my arms out but I have slowly (in the summer time only) for certain occasions like going swimming I will a tank top over my swimsuit but I always wear a sweater over my sleeveless dresses. I do see everyone else not wearing sweaters over their dresses but just can't get there yet.
Beth I like that idea of freezing the pie makings, might have to pick some apples when we do go pumpkin picking.
Another day at work, nothing special and no meetings afterward. I did have to stop by the university and pick up some supplies for my Robotics group but that wasn't too time-consuming. I managed to workout when I got home. After dinner I want to run to the store and get DS2 a card; his birthday is next week and I want to get it into the mail.
Scale was up today; now I get to spend 2-3 days undoing the weekend. lol I have lost and gained these pounds too many times!
Pearlrose, and Jennifer, I never wear sleeveless clothes either. I'm not really sure why, just the way I am.
Pearlrose, I want to go get to the big farmer's market for squash and pumpkins this weekend.
I just lost my post and have start a new one. WFH day for me, tonight DD2 has practice. It is starting to feel like fall around here, in the 50's this morning with high only in the 60's it will be in the 80's this weekend again though.
Afternoon chicks. Glad I am not alone in keeping arms covered.
Beth happy early birthday to DS.
Pearlrose I don't know where my post from yesterday went either. I could have sworn I posted lol
DS called last night (a rarity) he is nervous about going to Airborne. He is worried he won't be able to meet the physical requirements. Nice to know he still needs mom for pep-talks. We talked for over a hour (now that's a record). Hopefully his confidence will return.
Scale has been up and down the last few days....lol months!!!! I have been enjoying working out at the gym again. No gym today as the plumber FINALLY comes today to replace the baseboard heat in the half bath.
Otherwise nothing exciting here. Hope everyone enjoys their day.
