My arse was draggin the first 15 minutes. Then something wierd happened. I found my mojo and started running. Just grovin to the music.
The more I ran the more I wanted to run. Still not sure if I was running away from something or towards something but I felt GREAT! It releived all my stress and I felt energized! Ended up running for 45 minutes.
I normally HATE exercise but this time I felt fabulous! I hope it happens every time I exercise!
Good for you ladies!!! I love to hear about NSVs, what wonderful accomplishments!!!!
My biggest one so far came on Saturday, grocery shopping, when I realized that foods that previously were my weaknesses no longer appealed to me! The baked goods, the candy aisle, and the frozen pizza didn't even beckon as I filled my cart with fresh vegetables, fruit, and healthy meat choices.
Good thread, Ruthie! and congrats! I must confess I'm a wee bit jealous that Ellis will get to see you on Saturday (and a demonstration! )
Congrats too = Marcie, twodog, Sflake! I'm back from the gym and fell good about getting the exercise in for the day. Went to the market on my way home and just b4 checking out CRUISED the UK candbars (what is it with me lately?) anyway, don't worry - NSV + 0 Brit bars purchased and V8 consumed upon getting home.
BTW, Ruthie, I posted an exercise post in the midst of the recipes (sorry!) and couldn't delete it - it's just b4 your no potato salad recipe.
I realized today that climbing up the stairs wasn't a chore at all! All those squats and lunges are really paying off...I can see and FEEL the difference! And it's a good thing because I have started sewing again which entails multiple trips up and down because I keep forgetting things. I would get a lot less exercise if I got organized!
Glad to hear about all your NSVs! Boy, they really help with the motivation don't they?
ellis-I am working on a dress for my DD to wear to a wedding this weekend. Simple black knit w/a subtle floral pattern. We had to make some changes to the width of the shoulder straps...they came way out past her shoulders! I made 2 robes last week...one for me w/a pastel waffle weave type fabric and one for DD with cotton flannel with rubber duckies on it! I have a new serger so I am having fun with my new "toy!"
Oh Franny... I MUST do some sewing this fall! You've inspired me!
I've got so much fabric just sitting around waiting for THE perfect project. The heck with that! I could be dead before I ever get around to using it.
Ellis-I know the feeling! I have been putting off sewing for myself because of the shrinking! But I have a ton of fabric I bought to sew dresses for our cruise...so I had better get busy. I also have fabric to make matching tropical shirts for my DH and DS...they will be so cute! I go through spurts of sewing activity...kind of like my other passions.
