Question another newbie

hello, i'm Liz-aka Sylver....I started doing the atkins diet about....4 or 5 months ago-that lots of protein -no fruit no forgiveness diet- and lost about 50 pounds. (I did TONS Of exersize-6-7 days a week....) then eventually went down to only 3 days of kickboxing a week...so yeah-i suffered....

The most I suffered was my fruit though! I heard on this diet you just stay away from all unnecesary carbs-so i'm willing to give it a try and to make sure to get that book...and stick to it. I've reached my plateau-175 pounds. (down from 220)I need to loose at least 20-30 more punds to be at my "ideal"weight-so time for y'all to tell me all your secrets!!

Anybody who wants to send me emails to my address is more then welcome-espeically if it's to kick me in the butt!!

Thanks!! And I hope I can learn from all of you! (i hate veggies and eating healthy-no unlike a lot of ppl i've seen writing in here so far)

Welcome, Liz! I think you'll like what SBD has to offer...a healthy way of eating you can maintain for LIFE!

Great job with your weight loss so far! I'm sure working out has helped with that, too!

My stats are very similar to yours, and I am also struggling with a plateau. But I know that with SBD and exercise, the fat will come off! Good luck!

It is easier to suppress the first desire than to satisfy all that follow. -unknown

Welcome Liz,
I too am not crazy about veggies but I do like salads. My husband has been forcing us to at least try something new twice a week. Today it was eggplant YUCH. Sounds like your already off to a really good start. Where do you get your motivation to exercise?? That's just what I can't get myself to do. Julie

Welcome Liz!

I did Atkins too, and had been on a plateau for 10 weeks when I began SBD. It is a great plan, and so relaxing!

It took time for my body to adjust, and I even gained a couple of pounds at first, but after about 2 weeks I broke through that plateau and started to lose again. Now on Phase 2, I find that if I make the right choices I can eat lots of good things I couldn't have before and still lose weight.

Good luck to you!

Welcome Liz!!

I also tried Atkins, for a short period of time, then my doctor advised me to quit because it was affecting my health adversely. I'm glad it worked so well for you....congratulations on your FABULOUS loss!!!

I think you will really enjoy eating the SBD way. It's a very easy plan to stick to (even for a carbohydrate addict like myself), and is very healthy. I hope you come back and post often, and join us on the Daily Thread!!
