September Progress
I goofed yesterday and meant to move Foxyroxy's post into the daily. Very sorry but too much was going on at the same time.
Perhaps we should set up a diet reporting thread because that really is why we are here.
Here is the post.
Quote:
Hello All
Got some good news and some bad news! Let's go with the bad news...South Beach flu has definitely got me by the *****. Wasn't able to workout because I feel so sick to my stomach (no not backed up going 2x/day) and so exhausted. I've been looking for anything that falls in Phase 1 to bring relief. All of a sudden everything looks so tempting...ugh But I haven't given in and I was feeling pretty down. Onto the good news, today is 1 week into Phase 1 and I hate to get on the scale because I'm not good with disappointment. However, before I threw in the towel I decided to get on...and I'm down 8lbs!!!!
I can't believe it. I feel like crap but my weight is down. Now I feel rejuvenated for week 2. All of a sudden those cravings are gone. It's such a great feeling I'm planning my meals for next week already. Thanks for listening!
Cheers, FR

Yes, the good old SBD "flu". However, 8 pounds is terrific.
I was down 2 pounds from my starting weight but succumbed to a trip to the chip wagon yesterday and ... so much for progress!

foxyroxy, i'm glad the Poopoo got figured out and congratulations on your progress so far! Keep moving forward and your energy will return! Just be easier on yourself right now. When I did my first phase 1 I didn't try to restrict my food intake. If I was hungry in between meals I had an extra snack of protein. It seemed to really help. My last few days where the hungriest but I stuck with it and I'm glad I did.
My last two weeks I haven't been as diligent with my food choices as I usually am. I get on the scale every day and for two days in a row it's up where I don't want it to be so it's time to drop my line in the sand and get back to basics. No physical cravings though, so that's good. It's just all in my head.

My weight had been creeping up most of the spring and early summer so for the last 3 weeks or so I have resorted to counting calories. I figured maybe my portions were too big or something. I'm using an app called My Fitness Pal which makes things really easy since you can scan bar codes and save frequent foods and recipes.
I am crediting the tracking with my success meeting my August WL goal. I know SB is supposed to be about not having to count anything but I needed the accountability.

I too am also on week two of Phase 1. The flu symptoms hit me on day 3 and 4 and then I am good.
I am down 2.5 lbs this week but of course that is because of procedure prep but I am hoping to keep that weight loss for this week and keep going.
Foxy have you tried eating dairy or beans that really helps my symptoms when I have them.

Great thread
I've been slipping up. Have a slight gain. So on board to be accountable. Funny, yesterday I read in a book "you can't take yesterday back but you can plan a road for today and tomorrow". Something like that and I think it applies to alot of us.
take care
Sophie

Yes this is a great thread!
FR that is awesome! Hope the SB flu passes quickly
I've been tracking using the Lose it app. Beth I agree it helped me reach my August goal too.
I was 10 pounds over goal at the beginning of the summer. When I reach my September goal I will be at or slightly under my goal weight. Even though my numbers are not quite where I like them to be , I do see a difference in my legs. I maybe brave later and try to get into my skinny uniforn pants.

Well, I caved yesterday while in town and indulged in some sushi for lunch. Weight is just a tad up from yesterday. Yes, I weigh daily - a hard habit to break when you've been doing it for 60 years!

I'm on day 11 of phase one, had the SB flu on days 3-5 and even kind of into day 6. Once week one was finished I was down 5.8 pounds and all my cravings were gone. ^~^ I also have the habit of weighing every day, and haven't lost any amount of weight since the 7th, but I get the feeling that my body is playing catch up. No cheating or slipping up so I figure that's the only thing it could be.
But overall I feel great and I'm excited to go into phase 2. I'm dyiinnnggg for an apple and a bran muffin.

I'm hanging in there... only 1 pound loss for the first two weeks, but have been losing rapidly this week. That seems to be the way my weight drops on this plan... very whoosh-y.

Sheepie1974 your body may still be adjusting. Feel free to post your menus. It helps to see if you are missing something that might help with your progress. Sounds like this week you are liking what the scale says.
I lost 5.4 this week. I did 5 days of P1. One day of ridiculous exercise which helped even though I ate off plan. I think my body needed the change. This coming week I will be working crazy long days with the Pope in town. So I will be buying most of the week. I will do the best I can.
