Default Leapin' Leprecauns! 'Tis the 17th of Ireland.

Good morning and Happy Feast of Saint Patrick! and I'm sipping Irish cream flavoured coffee this morning.

This was my Dad's favourite holiday. He used to put green food colouring in the toilet tanks for a surprise with the first flush and my Mother would join in by giving us green porridge that morning - always Cream of Wheat because it took the colour so well. (You can see where I got my fey streak.)

Had a lovely dinner with the Pypers and their two dogs. Jazz was in heaven to see his two buddies again. They even howled together. My Bailey "pup" is really slowing down which makes me a bit sad. The crockpot stew was just great and I have some leftover for dinner Tuesday because it's corned beef and cabbage tonight.

There's a Mill Board Meeting this afternoon and I also have to do a telephone interview with someone from Therapeutic Paws of Canada as the vet me to take over as Team Leader. They are mainly interested in people and animal experience rather than my work experience. I certainly am not worried as I've been in the program with my dogs since 2000!

Time to sip another coffee and get the corned beef into the crockpot so ...
"Top 'o the mornin' to yez!"
"And the rest o' the day to yerself!"

Default Snow, snow, NO!!!!! Monday, 3/17

Well, guess what? This is just so wrong.

Anyway, HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY!

The weekend was a lot of fun, and especially the parade yesterday. I can't get over the fact that St. Patrick's Day is such a big deal, though! The train was packed on my trip home, and I was lucky to get a seat.

Jake is dropping me off at the farm this morning so he can take my car in to the shop for repair, and they should have it all week. Cindy is lending me one of their cars in the meantime. With these snowy roads, though, we're going to wait an hour or so before we venture out. The schools are on a delay, but in a couple hours all this should be out of here.

Did you feel that, Ruth?

The leprechauns used to turn all the milk in our house green, and they would always do the toilet thing, too.

SNOW?!? Really, Cottage?! I won't look....hopefully it's only on the coast now. The warm weather was such a tease!

I'm throwing together the black bean and sweet potato soup, and already have my egg foo young ingredients prepped so I only have to warm them and throw eggs on it. YUm! I will admit we're having corned beef (the flat cut) since hubbie wanted some.

Today is my short day, but busy busy with lots of stuff to do. How 'bout y'all?

Good Morning

I'm off to work...schedules got changed and I have to be in 1/2 hour earlier. We erected a sweet pea fence yesterday and I'll plant the seeds after work. This tradition carries down from my grandmother.

Happy SPD everyone!

Good morning.

I'm roasting some spaghetti squash so I can have it in a dish for lunch. I've had the recipe out for ages but never planned ahead far enough to make it for a meal since it required cooking the squash then baking after assembled with other ingredients. So today I decided to just cook the darn thing first and refrigerate it until later.

Gym this morning. Closing shift at work tonight. She got me closing twice this week which I'm assuming is because I'll be off for a while soon for my trip to PA. More Galapagos research on tap today; I was frustrated that the companies I wanted to call were not open on the weekend. And I probably need to plan some meals for later this week and get shopping.

The weather is going to be back to spring here so it should be heading the way of you east coast chicks soon!!

Happy St. Paddys Day Everyone!

I'm not Irish myself but everyone is on St. Paddy's Day.

Have an interview at a different company this afternoon. Then I also have to have Mark look at my car some more. I was driving home the other night from a pouring and suddenly the entire instrument went black...Scared the poo right out of me so he is gonna see if perhaps he can fix it for me. We are having corned beef and cabbage tonight too as that's part of being Irish for the day

Twynn: Glad you are back & you enjoyed vacation

Lexxis: Thats a neat idea a sweet pea fence. I don't think they would like our CA heat though.

Everyone else enjoy the day!

Sue

Good morning (2 minutes left)! Just another busy Monday around here. I'm only working 3 (more, worked last night) days this week and just 2 next week so I'm taking some deep breaths. My list is long as usual this time of year, but wanted to pop in and say hello Chicks

Sweet pea fences and warm weather?! This morning my thermometer read -15!!!! Ugh. I'm jealous of you chicks who are having spring. My grandfather, who lived in Kansas, always planted his potatoes on this day. Around here you'd have to dig through 2 feet of ice and snow. But even if it is cold: Happy St. Paddy's day, y'all!

Karen, when I need spaghetti squash I pierce it and microwave it for about 10 minutes. It seems way easier than baking it, if that works for your recipe.

Today is our anniversary so DH and I will celebrate and go out to dinner. (I won't mention the food porn.) I will have to stay OP the rest of the month if I am going to get near my weight loss goal for the month. Probably should join the OP thread for the next couple weeks...

Have a great evening everyone, whatever you have planned!
