Plan: South Beach. I did Weight Watchers and lost 50 pounds before getting preggers with my 6 year old. After she was born I went back to WW and didn't lose an ounce. I then tried South Beach and lost a little weigh but the weight loss was so slow that I gave up. Nearly five years after Marissa was born, at the same weight I was before WW, I was diagnosed with a thyroid problem. I am now taking natural supplements that have it under control and decided that I enjoyed the SB diet so much more than WW that I'm going to give it a go again.

Dangerous Foods: pasta, bread, chocolate, ice cream and anything Dad makes!

Hobbies: reading, writing and kingdoms of camelot

Reasons for wanting to lose weight: I felt SOOO much better when I weighed 50 pounds lighter than I do now. I want to get back there and then keep losing so I can lead a long healthy life for my family and myself.

Problem In Weight Loss: Laziness!! Why call it anything else?

Favorite diet cheat: Pretty much everything! Specifically pizza, ice cream and ooey gooey brownies or cake.

Hobbies: Baking!! I love love love to bake. It is very difficult to do this and not want to eat everything, but I'm learning. I'd rather bake and not eat a single thing I make than not bake at all. I also love photography, scrap booking, painting and reading.

Reasons for wanting to lose weight: It's just time! There are so many reasons. Ultimately I'm doing this for my health. I have PCOS and losing weight is crucial in order for me to start a family. I'm also turning 30 next year and I want to be healthy, happy and I want to look good! Of course vanity and smaller clothes plays a part.

Reasons for wanting to lose weight: Arthritis in my knee. Really trying to delay a knee replacement. I've been on countless diets, but this one seems to make sense. I rarely feel deprived (except for the first two weeks) and I love that after the first 2 weeks my sugar cravings pretty much vanished. I don't think I would be ding so well if my husband wasn't doing this right along side me. Took him getting a huge belly for him to get on board with the lifestyle change.

Hi,

I am new here and I started the South Beach diet two days ago. I have read the book and will go through the Recipe book pretty soon. I am very excited and very well motivated. I will probably need your support in the next few days as I am a fruit lover and they are not permitted in Phase 1. I am also the only person on a diet at home so I will have to cook two different meals each time. Might be hard but I enjoy most of the food that is allowed so I am happy and motivated in trying the different recipes available on this website.

Favorite diet cheat: I started this diet only two days ago so I haven't cheated yet and I do not have any intentions too but... if it happens, it will probably be either a fruit, pizza or Jalapeno chips

Reasons for wanting to lose weight: I do it for myself, to feel good with my body, to regain energy and to be proud of what I look like. I want to stay healthy and teach good food habits to my kids...

Reasons for wanting to lose weight: A week after DD3 was born I ended up back in the hospital with blood clots in both lungs. That close brush with possible death scared the **** out of me. The same thing happened to me...losing 15 lbs and putting it back on. Except this happened to me a few months ago!

Reasons for wanting to lose weight: mostly vanity. I'm tired of my wobbly bits. Plus it feels good to know that I'll be healthier, and living a healthier lifestyle.
