Talking Wakey! Wakey! Weekend Chat - Sept. 7 & 8

Good morning. Can you smell the coffee?

Been awake since three and finally gave up at 4 so have been up for a while. It would be an afternoon nap kind of day except I'm going to a play this afternoon. Barb and I are going to see The Postmistress in Gananoque. Should be fun - most things are if Barb is involved - and a good way to spend a drippy Saturday afternoon.

The Cafe and Mill are OPEN today. There is a big motorcycle event down in the park today - not Hells Angels but a group of retired folk who love vintage bikes. There were several requests for Mill Tours and for the Cafe to open so the manager and some volunteers are going with it. I did bake them the pineapple cake and also have lovely tomatoes to contribute but that's "it". I hope it's worth the effort. It's supposed to rain today and tomorrow which does not bode well.

What's happening by you today? Any chance of an afternoon nap? (I wonder if I can sneak in a late morning nap.)

I love naps, and would love to get one, but unfortunately am the only one in the family that does! I checked out that musical Ruth, and it looks great, hope you enjoy it!

I had been doing so good this week OP, and then my GI issues hit yesterday, and there went SBD! But, the scale went down another lb anyway so I guess I'll jump back on board today (just a wee bit apprehensive).

Yesterday's work was slow and not too exciting, let's hope today is the same. I originally talked to DH about going on hike today with the kids. There's still lots to do, but I must get in some play time as well!

Anyone with anything else exciting?!

Good morning. I can smell coffee and DH is also making bacon. Delicious.

It's pretty much all chores and niggles here today. Looks like rain later so I probably won't be able to do anything outside, but I've got plenty of things to keep me busy. And maybe a nap will work in there too...

Ruth, enjoy your play! All my trips to Gananoque have involved hockey rinks...You mean there's more to that town? Who knew?

Natasha, great to hear about your job news.

Jekel, hope you feel better soon.

To all the other chicks, have a great day!

at Beth. Yup, I've never seen hockey in Gan - don't even know where the arena is! Gan has the 1000 Islands Playhouse with professional theatre, a big gambling casino outside of town, some great Victorian houses. let me know next time you wander up here - it's only 35 minutes from my place.

Tammy, poop on the GI issues. I had something similar last week which I tracked down to eating Scarlet runner beans - raw! I've only known about that allergy for the past 60 years!

We finally have some daylight here so I am about to take my tomatoes and cake over to the Mill cafe now to avoid getting sucked into anything for this day when we are supposed to be CLOSED!!! (I'll have to change my attitude if they rake in tons of money today.)

Hmmm...I had to look up the scarlet runner beans...they (the flowers) are beautiful! I've never heard of them before.

The coffee is delicious this morning. Thanks, Ruthie. I know you're going to have a fun afternoon with Barb, she's a real hoot! The play sounds good, just don't let Barb recommend a "good" place to eat. (private joke.)

Tammy, sorry about your day yesterday, and I hope you are feeling much better now. It's looking like a great day for a hike, so go have some fun with your family! Next week at this time, we'll be getting ready to spend the day together, and I'm really looking forward to it!

Beth, I hope you can manage to eke out some "me" time today amidst your chores and niggles!

Natasha, congratulations on your new job! It will sure be a big change for you from your current job, but you'll finally be able to move to Massachusetts! I'm very happy for you and hope the move goes smoothly.

We have lots of sunshine and mild temperatures here today, so we'll probably try to get some outside work done. Yesterday while I was at Dad's, Jake worked out in the front flower bed and thinned out some perrenials and it looks great, and today he plans to prune our miniature crepe myrtles, so I'd better hang around to supervise that!
I heard that Macy's is having a big sale today, and I think this afternoon I'll go check it out and maybe finally use my gift card I almost forgot I had.

Have a Super Saturday, everyone!

Good morning,

I have been up for awhile just could not sleep, bathroom is already cleaned and have laundry going and just enjoying the quiet for a bit before tackling the rest of the cleaning. Today will be super busy, College Football, Parade in town (DD2 will be in with Swim team), then Trenton Fest and DS is competing in Fireman's muster at 7 p.m. Better enjoy the quiet right now while I can

Ruth enjoy the play today

Twynn hope you are feeling better today and get some fun activity in before work

Beth enjoy your day

Cottage I love Macy's my favorite store to shop at.

Natasha congratulations on the job, I will go back and read the post for more details.

Have a wonderful Saturday!!!

Good morning, thanks for all the well wishes. I haven't had a cold like this in quite sometime (I am in complete denial if this is actually a sinus infection) After the antibiotic cocktail I was on I cannot imagine getting sick lol.

Tammy I hope your stomach woes have passed.

Natasha congratulations!!!!! So do you get to drive a Porche? You must be so incredibly thrilled!!!!

Ruth and Pearlrose enjoy your outings

Linda have fun shopping!

Rough day with DS yesterday. He and his dad are fighting yet again. DS has been moody for a few days. Yesterday they had a "blow up" over the phone. I think DS needed to say what he did to his dad. We talked a lot yesterday and he does seem more like himself today.

I need to do my food prep for the week and vacuum the dog hair tumbleweeds. I would like to ride later, but my back is not co-operating today. I think I will use my spin bike or go for a walk.

Well my cup is empty time to get moving. Enjoy!

Good morning, everyone!

Natasha: Congrats in the new job! How exciting!

We slept in very late this morning and DD refuses to leave my lap. I'm used to her sleeping this late from time to time, but the clingy bit is unusual. Hopefully she's not getting sick! I'm going to have to make her get up soon; Mama hasn't even had her coffee yet!

Ruth: Have a fabulous time at the play!
, Tammy! Hope you get a great hike in! I've been dealing with some GI issues, but I'm hoping getting OP will correct them.
Beth: Good morning! I echo Linda's sentiments! Get some "me" time if you can!
Linda: I hope you have a nice day and find something great at Macy's. I always have a problem spending gift cards. I have a few in my wallet that I have no idea what to spend on.
Pearl: Oh my goodness! What a busy day you have in store! I hope you have a day of R&R planned for tomorrow.
Jennifer: I hope DS has a better day today now that it seems things have been aired out with his Dad. We vacuumed dog hair tumbleweeds yesterday, so we're good until tomorrow. Have a great day!

DH has breakfast just about ready and DD has decided to evacuate my lap, so I can finally get my cuppa!

I'm still working on catching up on the laundry today and I have to drive down to the next town over to pick up my co-op produce basket. It's our first week participating and I'm very excited! Other than that, nothing big planned here. We had company four times in August, with only one weekend to ourselves, so we're definitely ready for a restful, unplanned weekend!

Have a great day!

Good morning . Just under the wire but we are just having breakfast and coffee. Had a couple of very challenging nights so we are grabbing sleep when we can. It's a lovely day here and we are going to get out and enjoy it as much as we are able. Can't let these early fall days slip by

Natasha - congratulations! We definitely have to get together once you are in MA and settled.

Kim - I've been doing laundry catch-up too. We have enough clothes line for one load so it's one load a day until I'm caught up. Tomorrow should do it.

We didn't do phase 1.5 this week. Baked oatmeal with lots of fruit and flaxmeal was just perfect yesterday, so we are eating that again today. At least there are no off plan foods and my weight is slowly edging down. I knew some of it was water and I'm happy to see it go. I am thinking I don't need a strict Phase 1 again though. no real cravings. I will cut out grains again next week though, once things are back to a more normal pattern.

Hope your weekend has some time for fun and relaxation.

Well, busy day for me, errands, and one of my not so favorite, buying dog food - I never know what kind to get.

Stayed on plan, tried a SF Fudge Pop today, pretty darn good. Tommorrow I will weigh in and take measurements. I feel good, so even if I haven't drop any, it is still all good.

We had hot and sticky weather today, so hope everyone had a good day.

Afternoon, ladies! My dawgs are giving me a heart attack right now...I am not at all comfortable w/ just a 3 point lead in the 3rd quarter. My dawgs are NOT a second half team. Ugh.

Thanks for all your kind words. I am super excited (well, not THAT excited about the pretty drastic pay cut, LOL) to finally be moving to Massachusetts. It feels like I've been waiting FOREVER. Heck, I *have* been waiting forever!

So, just to kind of give some background, things went super quick w/ this job. I got a FB message from my roommate's ex-girlfriend saying there was a position open and, if I was interested, to send my resume in. I did so last Friday and got a message back that same day asking if I was available for an interview Tuesday morning at 10:30. I didn't get the message until Sunday b/c I was camping, but as soon as I got it I responded and told them I was interested. Did my interview Tuesday and got scheduled for a second interview w/ the hiring manager on Wednesday. Did that interview and she told me they "definitely" wanted to move forward in the hiring process w/ me and asked if I was available for a FaceTime interview w/ the owner Thursday morning. Thursday I interviewed via FaceTime w/ an interview panel who asked me to send in a writing sample for the owner to look over...once that was done I had a job offer w/in an hour.

cottage - I will definitely be continuing my pursuit of work in the 911 field. I am grateful for this job, but I know that my calling is in public safety.

Pearlrose - Sounds like you've got a busy day planned! Have a good one!

jekel - Ha ha...I don't know that I would ever WANT to drive a Porsche. They told me "sometimes the people that call us are VERY upset b/c their 100,000 car has something wrong with it." Uhh, yeah, my house isn't worth much more than that! LOL Hope you feel better soon!!!

Cyndi - That sounds like a GREAT idea!

Another early good morning. I wish I could figure out why I wake so early. I don't mind in the summer but it is so dark these days - not a glimmer until 6:30.

The play was excellent yesterday and I came home to a spiffed up house since Donna had been here. That'll be the last time since she has her wrist operation next Wednesday but I'm sure I'll manage. (I think I remember how to turn on the vacuum cleaner!)

As soon as it gets bright, I plan to go get the cafe money from yesterday and run it to the auto-teller. I also have a cheque to deliver and want to just get those niggles off my plate. I want to get my day cleared so I can spend the afternoon doing what I want to do - quilting!

Hope your day is a good one.

Good morning Ruth! Have you heard how the cafe did yesterday? Glad you enjoyed the play. We have some really nice productions here, I should look into them more often.

Yesterday wound up being a work day - between the real job and home. I did get the garden cleaned out, and scrubbed out the cat litter boxes (5 cats sure do pee a lot).

Hopefully that means today is a play day. Church first, then ?. What to do, what to do?

Until then, it's just me, Paul, and Emma Jean....since everyone else is still snoozing after a late night of Harry Potter!

Good Morning
I have a day off if noone calls in the next 45 min

I'm off to deal with a carpet clean up right now.
It never ends around here.

Congrats Natasha!
