Added sugar

  • Hi guys,

    I am on my second day on phase one. I just realised there is a small amount of added sugar in the canned beans and yoghurt I have brought. Is this ok? Those two things are the only things I have that contain any sugar.

    Do you think that I can just eat those and not be to worried? I have about 7kgs to lose and am doing this with my Mum who has about 20kg (at least) to lose.

  • Is sugar listed as an ingredient? Yogurt contains sugars naturally from the milk. Phase 1's point is to steer you clear of and rid you of the added sugars - natural sugars are ok (such as in tomatoes and milk).

    I'd not eat either if sugar is one of the main (so one of the first 3 or so) ingredients listed. It might trigger cravings.
  • Thank you for the reply Jenne. No it was listed, I didn't realise until after buying them, I know that's the point so thought i'd better check if I just eat something once or twice a week with added sugar would be ok but I guess not thinking about it! Thanks again :-)
