Did I do wrong in phase 1 by joining the gym????

  • As of 9/3 I was 252 and joined the gym. I have worked out everyday and this morning I got on the scales and I am 251 . What am I doing wrong? I am just now finishing phase 1 and would have thought I would have lost more. I lost 5 pounds in the first 4 days.
  • I found I retained water on the days I had a hard work out, showing up on the scale the day after. This is why I weigh daily, so I found shifts like this. If I took a day or two off, I would see the weight drop again.

    Great job though! Keep with it....remember, it's a lifestyle change. You're making some awesome progress!
  • Not everyone loses a significant amount in PH1. Many of us have an experience similar to yours with an initial whoosh followed by little or no more apparent loss. My theory is that the scale is catching up to the water weight falling off. Hang in there!

    As for joining a gym, IMO exercise is a good thing

    I'd also suggest that you measure yourself as you go along. Sometimes you can see a change there that isn't reflected on the scale.
  • Thanks y'all. I don't know why I did not think of that but I am going to measure myself. I can tell it in my clothes so I have to be doing something right
