Bread is hard.

Basically you need to find 100% whole grain (which it looks like this one is) but with no added sweeteners (which this one isn't - it has high-fructose corn syrup). Sometimes bread will contain the ingredient "sugar", as that is commonly used to feed the yeast - but it should be at the end of the list of ingredients and the nutritional label will say <1g of sugar per serving.

I have a few brands I buy and I just stick with them 'cause it's so much work reading all the labels. I have made many mistakes thinking I was making a good whole-grain choice and finding out the bread was sweet or mostly white flour.

Fab - you're in NJ: We actually have an awesome wholegrain baker that sells in ShopRite: The Baker. If you read the ingredients, they have a number with no sugars at all, and all whole grains. There's another natural brand sold at ShopRite, but the name escapes me. I'll update after I swing by the store tomorrow.

I was wrong about the other bread company - It's the Vermont Bread Company, and they use a log of honey or Cane Juice.
