Default SBD Chat - Monday, January 30

Good Monday morning! Coffee is good and hot and I put a wee bit of SF hot chocolate in mine this morning as a start-the-week treat. We didn't get any more ice on the back deck stairs so the doggage had a nice romp outside and are now cuddled together on the couch snoozing.

It's a normal Monday today after a good weekend with just the right balance of work, relaxing and fun. Today will start with a trip to the gym with Donna and then my friend Joanne is coming for coffee. This afternoon I go to town to get my eyes tested and glasses replaced. (I scratched them when I fell before Christmas and have been making do with an old pair.)

February starts Wednesday and will be a great month. Cottage comes for a long weekend visit mid-month. I have a ton of end of the year accounting to finish and need to issue the T4's to staff at the Mill. It'll be so good to get that done. (Sometimes I think I spend more time fretting about stuff than it takes to actually do it!)

How does your January "denouement" look? Groundhog Day is Tuesday.

Hey Ruth,
I'm also glad to see the back end of January. Seems like the month was long and hard but also flew by in a way. I'm certainly welcoming the light sky at 5pm when I leave work and looking forward to not getting up in the dark.

On tap for today is work, and then I must clean my house when I get home, it's a disaster area. We're away again this upcoming weekend (trip to AC without the kiddy, whoo hooo) so I need to get everything done during the week. Hope everyone has a great day today!

Good morning!

The one sad thing about staying in the hotel room, is no coffee yet. The great news is that I"m on the balcony again, watching the sunrise. I'll have to wake up the kiddos early so we can stop by and see grandma and grandpa on the way to the airport, for one last goodbye. I think two days is a perfect length stay!

After I finish this post (and then find a place for breakfast, hotel buffets aren't so yummy!), I'm going to read my book. I can hear the waves out there!!

Good morning

Ruth - I bought sf hot chocolate just so I could try your morning treat, glad you reminded me

Matilda - How did the weekend go?

Twynn - Via packets are the secret to hotel stays, assuming they have a coffee maker to heat water? Your view looks amazing. Hope that's helping.

Off to an appointment this morning, hopefully some errands if DW is having an okay day. Other than that it's pretty much like every other day recently - work to do, cleaning, some laundry..... First I'm grabbing one of those hot chocolate packets though. thanks Ruth!

Good morning!

I am rejoicing that it's the end of January and we're inching closer to Spring! We did get a light dusting of snow overnight, but it will be gone as soon as the sun warms things up.

February is looking to be a busy month for me. My DD wants me to come and spend this coming weekend with her, mid-month I'll be braving the Canadian winter with Ruth, and will wrap up the month staying at the farm with the girls while Cindy & Richard are in Europe.

Well, I have a little person who wants some snuggling with Grandma, so I'll see you all later.

Happy Monday! Just a run-through today. The tile is down. Grouting starts today. I offered to take a vacation day, but Jeff and Pops will do it -- thankfully. We should be moving back in the kitchen this weekend. Woohoo!!!

I, too, am thankful January is almost over. We survived!

Good Morning! I'm glad that January is almost over too. The weather hasn't been too bad here in Nova Scotia - warmer than normal temps and not a lot of snow. But I'm still really looking forward to Spring!

I'm on day 3 of Phase 1 and it's going really well. I spent the weekend cooking and trying out new SBD friendly recipes. Got loads of fresh veggies chopped, egg muffins made and meals/snacks planned for the week. I feel really prepared and motivated!

Good morning! Already been out to shovel the driveway (though DS did most of it first) The driveway has bumpy frozen ice under the fresh snow so simply 'pushing' it aside is not an option. This is a rude 'welcome back' to me, we spend last week in Arizona

lynnslife, I am on Day 4 of P1, and I'm not as prepared as you with recipes, but I do have all the components and that's good for me

I have to work out and then get ready for work. Do you SB ladies post your daily exercise on a different thread, or here?

Hope everyone has a great day. I started out crabby but now I'm better

Hi, Lynn. I watch the Halifax news at ten pm (my time) and it sure doesn't look like our winter down there! We still have a lot of snow cover garnished with glare ice roads. Thanks for the reminder re the muffins. I must make some for quick breakfasts.

Twynn, no coffee! I'd be having a fit. Safe trip home.

Mathilda, yes it's been a rough month in some ways. I agree that it's nice to see the sky brighter at 5PM - nice to see it getting bright at 7AM too!

Chelby, so nice that the "lads" are doing the grouting when you are at work. I bet you'll be glad to get the kitchen back.

Cyndi, think Spring! Raising my second mug to hot chocolate and a good day for you and Julie.

Cottage, right now it's pretty wintery but we have a big melt predicted for mid-week. I'll speak to the weather gods about arranging some Canadian weather mid-month. Otherwise, we can plant the raised bed!

Vermont Mom, yes, just shoving aside the snow when it's on ice is not an option. It must be quite a shock when you've just come from AZ. (Note to self: plan a winter holiday somewhere next winter.) There is a SBD exercise sticky. See New Year, New Attitude January SBD Exercise Challenge. Pop in there although there will probably be a February one started mid-week.

Grrr! Donna was to drive to the gym this morning and just bailed. She's usually here by 7:30 on her driving day and I called just now when she didn't show. I may get there later this morning - Joanne is coming for coffee at nine so it's a bit tight right now.

Time to shuffle my Monday plans around a bit.

Good Morning

Welcoming Holly and Lynn to the daily thread!

We traveled this morning-no issues but very dark. I have 1/2 hr until I need to leave for work and I think it's time for more coffee.

Have a great day everyone!

Woot!Woot! Week 1 , phase 1 done.. 1st weigh day has me down 7 lbs
I got my next door neighbor to join me too... We eat together, so It has made fixing meals & sticking to plan easy.

I got a belated Christmas gift of a Kindle Fire yesterday. I'm loving it!! wasted most of my day playing with it... So today I need to get chores done that I put off a day too long!

Last night someone put a pound of sugar in my friends son's work vehicle.. grrr... luckily he noticed the cap off before starting the truck..., So it did not get into the engine. What a royal pain though..

Have a beachy day gals~

Happy Monday!

Off to the gym with my mom. Then I'll get on the phone to try to negotiate a better hotel rate for a trip in April. Between when I started looking a few days ago and yesterday, the online discounted rates vanished! Sigh. Spent more time last night with my mom on her computer issues and again this morning already. She likes me better than using the "help" features

Happy Monday! Today is my first day of Phase 2 (not sure of my weight, but my too-tight size 12 pants are loose, and my one pair of size 10 that I've never quite fit, nearly fit).

I'm travelling tomorrow -- one of my biggest challenges when it comes to keeping eating in check, but thanks to the great advice on this forum, I may survive the next two days.

Off to eat my first piece of fruit in over two weeks. It's gonna taste sooo good.
