SBD Wednesday Chat, Dec 7
Good Morning
We went to bed early last eve and so it's seems I might have some time to get caught up at home before heading to Denver for an eye appt. with mom.
I think today would work best with:
1. a list
2. coffee
Think I'll go work on both....
What's up in your neck of the woods today?? Stop and say hi

Good morning, Debbie. I have coffee AND a list so I'm set for the day although I have no appointments. I actually had a normal night of sleep - ten until five - and am ready to tackle Hump Day.
Appointment with the periodontist went well yesterday and I was able to get to Home Sense. I got my gift card plus a couple of other things and was home before dark.
Today is "free" - as free as any day the month before Christmas. I plan to do a bit more wrapping and get some cards on their way to some relatives who expect them. I decided this year that the money I spend on cards and stamps is better spent by the Food Bank. We usually give out 27 Christmas baskets but this year it's up to 34! Luckily the turkeys have been donated.
The dogs just came in and inform me that it's cold and sort of misty freezing rain out there. I guess it's December for sure. Anybody know where my snow brush and ice scraper are hidden? I may have to brave the barn.
Happy Hump Day, Beachies.

Hi Ruth! Glad your appt went well. I'm looking for a winter hat I knitted last year...perhaps I should try your barn, I've looked everywhere else. Enjoy your day!

Debbie, my theory is that every house has a Bottomless Pit where things go on their own. It's full of odd socks, car keys and TV remotes plus snow brushes and winter hats. One of these days I hope to find it.

Hey guys,
I don't envy you the cold. Here in NYC it has been unseasonably warm - yesterday was 65 - but I'll take it. I really do not like the cold!
Checked my husbands paycheck from last week this morning and it says he worked 11 hours of overtime! I'm trying to get my mind back to last week to remember how that could have worked. I have holiday/menopause brain. Well, I'll take the overtime, especially during this season - that's for sure.
Today was my second day of successfully getting up and exercising. I did weights and ab work. I feel great and need to do this every day!
On tap for today: work, then home and some chores. Not much else! Hope everyone has a great one...

Good morning. I do believe every home has a bottomless pit, and we refer to it as The Black Hole. Things in my house seem to find there way into it, all by themselves.
It's raining yet again, and we're under Flood Watch until tomorrow morning. If this were snow, we'd be buried under, so I'll be grateful that it's only rain.
I'll be spending the morning helping Susie & Ramsay put up their tree and decorations, so that should be fun, and will spend the afternoon baking pumpkin bread for the Hunt Club. After dropping the girls off for their riding lessons after school, I should be home by 5, which I consider an early night.
Debbie, Survivor should be really good tonight!

Good morning Just enjoying my first cup for the day. Yesterday ended up being a very good day. DW's appt. was great and all the news was good. We even got to see before and after x-rays so could see how well the diaphragm is doing. One more recheck and the surgeon will release her. Today is another day of playing chauffeur for me. She has a neurology appt. then is working for a couple of hours. I really hope she is ready to drive next week.
Ruth & Debbie - good morning to you both. We have a storage room in the back. It seemed like such a good thing but it's amazing how much cr*p we keep because we can put it back there. It's almost as big as our apartment.
Matilda - Have you checked the forecast?
I'm going to try to get a little work done before we hit the road. I'll make a list of things to do while she is working. Can't come home for just two hours so might as well shop.

Good morning Cottage, you slipped in while I was writing. We are getting snow tonight, then "normal" temperatures which are not going to feel normal after all this warmish weather.
Happy baking, could you send some of that yummy pumpkin bread smell up this way? I'm addicted to baking smells.

Hey! The mist changed to a dusting of white stuff out there!
I'll know I'm old when I no longer get excited over the first snow.

I'll get excited about snow when I no longer have to drive on slick roads in it.

Cyndi, it's going to go down to the mid 40s by the weekend, but I'll take that over freezing temps any day...

good morning
Ruth - hope your day goes as planned.
Debbie - I too am looking for a hat I knitted last winter, its bugging me as to where it is, maybe our hats are together somewhere.
Cottage - how many trees have you already decorated this year.
McK - I would love to be in NYC just before Christmas I know its very bust but the atmosphere is wonderful.
Cyndi - glad you had such wonderful news and everything is getting back to normal.
me - I am scaring myself because I have done so much for Christmas already. In my past experience when that has happened, I have come down with the flu during the holidays. Getting ready for a progressive dinner party on Saturday night, we do appetizers. They are alot of fun and we can walk to all the places.
take care
Sophie

Hi all,
MMc - SNOW tonight!!! We are only getting 1-2" here though.
I am still sick and it's getting worse. Torn between seeing a dr and not as they won't be able to do anything for me. I am going to work from home today and then trek out to the nearest Walgreen's tonight when DW comes back with the car to get the store brand of Nyquil D. I hate taking meds but my throat and ears are on fire and my knees of all things are sooooo weak!
Hope everyone stays warm and on task today!
