Scared to start Phase 2

  • I'm new to SBD and just completed my 2nd week. I'm a little nervous about starting Phase 2 because I have only lost 10 lbs. I don't want the weight loss to slow down. Anyone else feel this way?
  • , jesste! Ten pounds is a lot to lose on Phase 1, so congratulations!

    Phase 2 is where the real weight loss begins, although it will be slower, but you can follow this plan the rest of your life.   • I agree with Cottage. The initial weight loss in Phase 1 is mostly water, Phase 2 is where the fat loss begins (the sustainable weight loss) and while it is slower, it will be easier to maintain the loss.

  • I remember reading in the South Beach Diet book that it is okay for individuals with more weight to lose to stay on Phase 1 for an additional week or two, but not much longer than that.

  • I added Phase 2 foods slowly and still don't go crazy with starches. Read up on how to reintroduce foods and recognize triggers and you'll do great!
