Corn vs popcorn on Phase 2

Can someone explain why the book says yes to popcorn but no to corn in phase 2. I just felt totally guilty eating it and had to stop. Lol

corn is high on the glycemic index. Air popped popcorn is not.

I realize it says no corn but I do have it occasionally. I have a rule for corn, I only eat it freshly picked if I eat it, and on occasion I'll eat it if it's a part of something like soup. These days I just stay away from things that will trigger a binge, so sometimes I do eat things not recommended on ph2 but they dont cause my binge monster to come out. Corn isn't a trigger for me.

I found out the hard way that corn was a total trigger for me and I stay away now (which stinks because corn chowder is a favorite for me and I had found a good substitute but made it once a bit ago and it was the beginning to the end for me).

I guess I now equate it to potatoes!
