Afternoon

Ruth, you poor thing........more snow And here I am thinking about planting some nice colorful Spring flowers outside about now. Thanks for the reminder to turn our clocks back this evening. My body just doesn't like the time changes. It usually takes me about a week to adjust. But, I do love the longer days and can hardly wait until they are really long and warm and Spring and Summer are here. You were an for rescuing your fur baby. Hope you've gotten warm by now.

Matilda, hope your lab results are good.

Cottage, sounds like a fun day with Tyler but bet you'll need a nap this afternoon.

Heidi, had to laugh at your gum confession. Old habits are hard to get rid of, aren't they.

Debbie, I am jealous of your bike rides. I haven't been on a bike since I was a little girl.

Nicole, an outing on a sunny day can do wonders for ones mental health. Glad you were able to get out.

Karen, sorry you had a sleepless night. I think we all have that same wish.

Cyndi, congrats on your bill moving along.

Ultimate, hope you got your wish for a run today. I know getting my walk in sure made me feel better.

Annie, have a great time with your cheat meal but don't forget to come right
back. An iPad2, you go girl!

Jasmine, Good job working with the kids, hope they did great.

Lisa, looked for you at the grocery store today but didn't see you .

Claire, another biker..............good for you.

Schmoodle, hope you were able to get motivated and got lots done down in the basement.

OMG I sure didn't want to exercise today. Let myself talk me out of doing it first thing and when I do that, it is sooooo hard to get it done. Finally this afternoon I grabbed our dog and out the door I went. Because he is older (8 years) and has a flat face, he can't walk very far but I did get some in and I'm now so very glad that I did.

Ran to the grocery store this morning and spent longer than I thought because it's harder to find some of the items that I needed that I'm not yet used to buying.

Well time to start dinner. So far today I'm on plan and have gotten two of my meals in. Way to go me! Hope you all are doing as well.

"Morning, Beachers. I hope you all remembered the time change if you are in North America. It sure is dark at 6:40 around here. The dogs are now back in bed.

Church and then a relatively free day. It's nice to know that because next week is busy with pet therapy, meetings and friends who think March break is a good time to drive up to Delta with their grandkids to see Ruth and the dogs. I keep saying "Phone me first" but ... I guess I need to stick up on milk and cookies.

Happy Sunday.

I was just complaining about the morning dark but I'm going to love the light after work. Enjoy your day Ruth!

Hi everyone!

Tallandthin - yep another biker, you should try it! I actually do it for ideological reasons (I live in a city where it is absolutely unnecessary to drive) but it is great fun, much quicker than driving/taking the tram, good exercise and is saving me €€€€€€€. I can highly recommend it!

My day is also pretty free. I got up late (yeah!), am finishing a semester paper (the last one before I graduate!), updating my blog and will attempt a slow, long run. I am meeting a friend for coffee later. To be honest, I am counting down the days (25!) until my boyfriend comes back so I have my exercise buddy back. He's always up for a bike ride/ run/ hike. No one else wants to!

Have a good day

Good morning!

It did feel dark this morning, didn't it? But like Cyndi I'm looking forward to the extra daylight this afternoon/evening.

I got so much done yesterday and feel so good about it. Of course there's always more to do so when it comes right down to it I could sequester myself again today and get even more done - but one day a weekend is enough for me. I fell asleep on the couch last night though, I'd tired myself out. LOL

Church today, then grocery shopping, a visit with a friend and a walk outside. I've got to get my lesson plans done sometime today too - I usually do them on Saturday evening but I was Zzzzzzzz ing on the couch instead!

Enjoy your Sunday friends!

Hey all,
I actually slept in a bit so didn't really notice that it didn't get light until later, but I'm sure I will notice tomorrow am! My appointment went great yesterday, and then I took a long, long walk through the city to meet my friend for lunch. Then I came home and took my son to the playground and then we took another long walk together! We stopped at the video store to get a movie for him, then came home and I cooked beef stew, egg casserole for breakfasts (no quinoa, since I'm on phase 1 for the week), made hard boiled eggs and edamame, and spagetti squash casserole for dinner last night!

Today it's church and then we're driving to see a friend for lunch. I don't really have much prep for the week to do since I did it all yesterday, so today should be relaxing. Hope everyone has a great one...

Well I sure goofed. Last night I turned the clocks back rather than forward, and when I first woke up this morning I decided it was too early to get up yet. I'm going to blame it on the fact that I wasn't feeling well when we went to bed, and I'm still not feeling up to par today. I'm really disappointed, because I had planned on going into the city to walk with Carley and her Irish Dance Troupe in the parade, but I think I'd best stay home today.

Good morning!!

I hate it being dark in the mornings. I don't like it being dark when I am head to work. Okay, I am done with my whining.

Yesterday was exhausting. The kids had a blast at the competition. We had parents asking if we were going to do it again next year. We said yes. It is just a great opportunity for our higher level thinkers. We have a lot of things for kids who are struggling, but not near as much for those who are at the other end. So Odyessy of the Mind is one thing we can offer.

Today is church and cleaning. I might go get a pedicure. The weather is supposed to be nice this week which means I'll want to wear my sandals.

Have a great Sunday!!

Jasmine

Good morning chicks. I turned the clock ahead and went to bed kind of early last night, so this morning wasn't too painful. I was beat, as I spent 5 hours in the basement yesterday, but it's about as spotless and organized as a dirt floor basement can get now. Plus I had some wine, and that was it. I'm cranky this morning though, DD1 brought some beignet mix back from her NO trip, so I made some for the kids this morning, which put me in a bad mood. I didn't have any, not even tempted. But I hate to fry things, the mess and the smell.
Today is housecleaning, some cooking, and a walk planned later with a friend. It's beautiful out right now, hope it stays for a while!
I need to use up some eggplant, some cabbage, and I think I'll make some red lentils. Off to hunt recipes...

Good Morning

Ouch, Cottage, for setting clocks the wrong way! Oh well, the parade will probably be better on TV.

Schmoodle, I've been eating red lentils all week. I decided to try to cook them like the baked brown rice. It was so interesting...they came out the texture of dahl after you do the blending. I just topped the mash with fresh salsa and DH said the dinner was the best he can remember. We had the lentil mash, brown rice and a great chopped salad.

Me, slept lots last night. We rose to darkness at 7 and went and met up with the dog walking group at 8 down by the Colorado River. Rudi did pretty good considering it's the most exercise he's had in ages and we were all happy to be out again. Church, more organizing at home, then I've committed to picking up a rescue pup from Utah and transporting him to a foster home in Carbondale, about 12 miles South.

Mom just called-gotta run.

Have a great Sunday, friends!

Ruth, our daughter is taking her Frenchie to his first pet therapy outing next month. She is so excited and I'm sure he will do great as he is so laid back but yet so friendly.

Just went out and picked up of the bulldog "deposits" as dh is going to mow just as soon as he finishes hanging all of the bird nest boxes. The bluebirds and swallows are ready. I love the smell of freshly cut grass!

Nice walk this morning but no fluffy clouds, just overcast and gray. But I did get to see a flock of Canadian Honkers come down and land in a pond and then splash around like little kids for a while. I swear their "honking" was laughter while all the splashing was going on. Can hardly wait to see the first batch of babies this Spring.

Got to get off and go start the corned beef and cabbage for dh for his St. Paddy's treat. One of his favorite dinners plus he loves the sandwiches later. Something else for me of course. Oops, just realized I probably shouldn't have talked about this food porn........sorry about that.

Good afternoon! Just popping in to say hey. It's 77* outside, my lovely Blue Devils won the ACC championship today, and I'm perfectly on plan. We're grilling tonight, so I'm not sure if I'm going to do this turkey sausage I have or be good and do some chicken breast on a salad. I'll cross that bridge when I come to it. I hope you're all having a day as wonderful as mine!

Things have been weird around here, and they won't let up until next week. I'm off diet as of my third day in, but with a good excuse. I was up late thursday night, went to bed, and not 3 hours later was fending off calls from family to evacuate. We're not in the induction zone, but town is.

Yesterday we did a drive through the two local harbors. One was moderately damaged, but not awful. My coworker says I must not have seen the commercial side, she said it's destroyed. Our harbor is destroyed, waves washed over the parking lot. The beach is a mess. The concrete bits that were placed up against the hwy are now strewn over the sand. All the ships that went out to sea had to go south to Eureka to port. They couldn't come to port up here. The docks are gone, the harbor is a hazard zone. We got lucky. Not half as bad as 64, and nothing compared to Japan.

My brother and his family are coming to visit tonight and will be up a week.

I'll be back on the beach when they leave. I have the whole week to prep for it.

Good evening, ladies. Sorry I don't have time for personals today, but I just wanted to pop in and say hello real quick. Had my 5K yesterday morning...it was the first one that my mom has done w/ me. My time was 2 minutes slower than my last 5K b/c I slowed down to walk w/ my mom. Mom placed 2nd in her age group!!! Took Shadow to the dog park afterwards and then had a cookout/bonfire w/ some friends. Took wheat buns for the hamburgers we were having which is pretty much a moot point considering the pony keg of beer, shots of Southern Comfort, and smores. EEK!!! Back on track today!!!

Gotta run...hope you're all doing well.
