Default Need daily motivation

May I join in too? My name is also Julie I lost 22 lbs 3 years ago on SB then my hours at work got cut to 2 days a week and I found myself at home eating all my kids junk food. Needless to say I've gained back 25 lbs. I've reached my tipping point and realize I've got to do this again. I'm hoping joining 3Chicks and checking in daily will help me get back on track.

Hi to all the new people Here is a great place to post and keep yourself on track!

Matilda - gah I know, but tomorrow is Friday (thank god!).

Just a fleeting visit from me! I have completely lost my voice now, but not letting that stop me. I'm going to the cinema this evening to see an independent Indian film, looks v good (forgotten what it is called!). Not entirely on plan today, but close enough... No exercise either, on account of my throat and generally feeling like poo. Tomorrow is another day!

Have a great day to all of you who still have the majority of the day left!

Hey Julie! Jump on in, the water's fine! I'm in NC too, (Charlotte burbs) and ready for this dreary nasty rain to pass too! As a fellow SAHM, I know what you mean about the cabinets--it can be daunting! I often go and stand in front of the open pantry, then I remind myself that I won't regret NOT eating such and such, but I will regret it if I do eat it. It pretty much does the trick. Usually.

Lisa--RAWR! to you too! LOL! I'm lucky in that I crave peanuts/peanut butter during my TOM. I am perfectly content with a big fat spoonful of PB and could completely drop chocolate out of my diet altogether. I like it but I don't require it by any means. Phew! My problem is more with certain fruits and flour products. (I miss CiCi's with a burning passion!) Hang in there!

Schmoo & Matilda--I have to agree wholeheartedly on the seafood in those places... There's only one Chinese buffet where I'll eat their seafood and it's only because they have a Mongolian barbecue AND a sushi chef that makes and sets out one or two rolls at a time. The temperatures always seem a bit sketchy at those places! I haven't set foot in one in months though... We used to go weekly! I hope your DH gets checked for that allergy though... Reactions can progress if that's what it is!

Nicole - I'm with you. I'm approaching the 2 week mark and I feel that I'm nowhere NEAR removing my training wheels yet! I guess we'll learn what works for us and what doesn't in due time!

Pearlrose - LMBO at your DD breaking! When DS is under the weather I can't think (or type) straight either! Glad she's feeling better!

Jasmine - Yay for surviving observations! I take it you're a teacher? I have thought about going into teaching but the idea of 'observation' like that always puts me on the spot. I used to teach French and Spanish to 3rd-4th graders after school and when the program director was in the room I was a wreck! Any other time it was great. I guess I have confidence issues lol.

Cottage - How fun and creative!!! Sounds like Audrey is very bright, between her clever decorating and her love of experimentation and science and whatnot. Have fun!!!

Cyndi & Ruth - BE CAREFUL in all that snow! How icky!!!

Karen - Enjoy spring break! I'm looking forward to DST very much myself, but for different reasons. I get so depressed when the sun sets so early!!! I'm a late riser, so I'm not up early enough to appreciate the sunrise... Just long afternoons of sun!!!

As for me... I'm tired of the rain! I also really want to hit the treadmill today but really should take a day of rest. Thing is, I have IBS, so sometimes all I can do to "get things moving" is to get moving, if you KWIM. Unfortunately, a simple walk won't do the trick, either. I'm feeling pretty cruddy today and I know if I could just hit the treadmill hard I would eventually feel much better. Oh well. If I am still miserable later I will give in and go.

Running out of OP food here at the house... Well, not really. Just running out of new and interesting OP food lol. Going to have to go grocery shopping today or tomorrow, but I am feeling super demotivated.

By the by, my RHR has gone from 86 bpm a month ago to 66 since I got back on SBD and started running again. I'm pretty excited about that! Also, went to put on a pair of pants this morning that fit me (loosely, but they fit!) a month ago only to find I literally cannot take a step or two without them falling down around my ankles. I'll try to get a pic of me in these comically huge pants later. Good things are happening to my body! Woohoo!

Be good! I'll check back in later, chicks!

Return to South Beach!
You are all inspiring me to get back on the beach - literally! I was down from 198 to 159 a year ago, and let it creep back up to 178. Back on Phase 1 a week ago, and back on track.

I may have messed up my signature/weight loss ticker, so I may well be back to fix it any minute now. Thank you for being out there!

Morning everyone, rain headed my way too but right now it's nice out, not too cold and with a slight breeze. I'll take it over snow anytime.

Just got back from my walk so can check off my exercise for today and move on to chores. Think today both bathrooms will get a good scrub down and perhaps a couple of loads of laundry will get done.

Today will be an on plan day with three meals........how about you?

Totally agree about those Asian buffets, and actually I hate any kind of buffet restaurant. This one didn't look too bad, but they had a sushi bar, which is where I headed. DH made some comment about the risks of raw fish, haha. Anyway, the other times he got sick were not from a buffet, once at another restaurant and once from a Trader Joe's frozen seafood thing. But I think I have him convinced to get it checked out, and I'm glad, as Amanda pointed out, I read that it can progress to anaphylactic issues.

Hey, Kalyn's kitchen's featured recipe today looks pretty familiar (just with quinoa added):

Think she's been trolling our recipe files?

Welcome, Julie!
Busy day so far, better get back to it, but I'm hoping I can take a break and watch Survivor later!

Good morning all..or almost noon..

Just popping in to say hello..Not much going on around here on the WET coast of BC. Rain rain rain.. baby girl went to the doctor yesterday and her chest is sounding much better and she is starting to eat more, however, we have to take her to the doctor once a month to get her weight checked because she isnt gaining weight very well..which might mean she needs to go down island to see a pediatrician..we shall see..im hoping i will see a weight gain in her and a weight loss in me..

candle lady - Jess, not sure if you'll check in today or not. Let me know if you're going to come up for the funeral. I think Christan and I are going to sit together.

SQUEEEEE!!!

My South Beach Diet book finally arrived! (I've been beachin' by reading up on this stuff online everywhere I can. I got a couple of extra bucks for amazon on this rewards 'something for nothing' site I use and ordered a few books. This cost me $3 with shipping included, LOL. I'm gonna go read it now!

Evening, ladies...just popping in to say hello before I head over to a friend's house for Jersey Shore night. Grappling w/ the decision of whether or not to apply for the open Sergeant's position at work STILL. Ughhhhhh, decisions decisions!!!

Evening all. I'm totally exhausted but happy to report that:
1) finally got the testimony out of the way. I think it went pretty well though I second guessed it all the way home. One rep took me aside to let me know he had decided to vote for the bill.
2) the roads were pretty cruddy but I made it without incident, though very slow going
3) I stayed on plan! Two meals out and another 250+ miles so that's an accomplishment. I've had a hard time being 100% on plan when I'm on the road most of the day.
Happily I'm at home the next three days (then in Montpelier the next three days!).

See you all in the morning
