I absoloutly adore hummus.. i could eat it by the spoonful on its own.. i make it home made at home.. i was just wondering..how much can we have? Is there a limit to how much? PS: i make mine without tehini..i make it with a little olive oil instead..
Figure it out based on a serving of chick peas which is 1/2 cup as it depends on your recipe. It's good stuff but we should not overdo on anything! Careful on the olive oil. A T. of olive oil is 120 calories and a tablespoon of tahini is 89. I sometimes use some chicken stock when I make it with olive oil.

Well it depends on your brand but one cup of hummus can be over 400 calories and 50 grams of carbs. For me that's a LOT to take in so I'd probably never eat more than half a cup a day (I'd probably eat like 2 tbsp in a snack). I know half a cup sounds like a little but half a cup is a great portion.
My brother eats a small container a week.
