  • Long story short. I was still having some carb issues, so I decided to do another week (plus, due to my current weight it didn't seem like a bad idea anyways :P). Problem? Day before my weigh in I was at -20.5 lbs and then day of my weigh in I was back up to -17 lbs and have since NOT MOVED.

I've been watching my calories and I'm in an appropriate range according to spark people (I wasn't really watching the number for the first two weeks - and input it all in at the end of the day because wanted the information for later :P)

*is so confused* I was going to start working out again (haven't done so since december ) but, should I wait or just continue on knowing what I'm doing should be working?

(just to note, I'm counting from the BEG. of my weight loss journey, no, I did not lose 20lbs in two weeks :P)
  • when was your weigh in? How long has the scale not moved? A person can easily put on 3 lbs. of water weight for no real reason. If you've been watching your portions and calories, there's no way that's real weight gain, so try to remain calm.
  • Thank you. It hasn't moved for...four days now? (which is really a drop in the puddle so to speak, I realize this :P Its just hard when you get on the scale and it STILL hasn't moved to remain calm lol). *sigh*
  • Weight fluctuates a lot from day to day, sometime you will have a higher number for a few days and then it drops a few It does not mean you gained some fat, it might be water. The scale is only a tool that gives you an approximate weight, if you were to drink 3 glasses of water we both know that there is no risk of gaining weight with that but the scale will show an increase because of the weight of your stomach content. Dont get discourage.

If you eat right, are sure that the amount of calories is within your plan, that your portion size is accurate, that you do not have too much salt in your diet, you will see the result soon.

Do not delay starting your workout because of the scale since exercise will help you tone your body and be beneficial to your health in general.
  • Most people stall or slow down at the end of week 2/beginning of week 3, whether they stay on phase 1 or move to phase 2. I guess it's our bodies adjusting.

Try not to be too discouraged, if you continue to eat on plan the scale will start moving again soon. And exercise can only help.
  • It is normal for weight to fluctuate for no apparent reason.

thanks....i really need to be remined of that!
    hugs
  • You can do it!!! I'm having VERY VERY similar issues, but I'm trying to concentrate on all the stuff I'm not putting in my body anymore -- keep your chin up!
  • Most of us have had similar issues after the first few weeks. Very normal. Be patient with your body.
  • Thank you everyone for your helpful posts! I think "your body is just catching up" is an excellent concept to describe what is going on right now . I'm hitting the gym on Tuesday (work tomorrow won't allow such things, as its either the grocery store OR the gym...and food > working out :P).

Thank you again everyone, I'll keep you updated!
  • Mine isn't moving either. We can be stalled weight buddies!
  • *high fives tomandkara* Stalled weight buddies lol (probably not something to be happy about? :P)
  • At least we know we're not alone... It'll start moving again. Keep up the good work!
  • *does a little dance* So, nearly a week of being bouncing back up to (from -21lbs) -17lbs I got on the scale and BAM, -21lbs. I don't know if it will last tomorrow or even the next day, but the fact that the scale is moving even a bit makes me super happy! Going to start being cleaner with my diet though, and hopefully that will help
  • Yay! Mine is still stuck so maybe you could have your scale give mine a call?
