I've been chugging my water like a sponge soaking in water! It's helping. I've also been using the loo alot because of it but that's the price to pay. Has anyone read "A Course in Weight Loss" by Marianne Williamson? It sounds intriguing that fear is at the root of the Weight Loss battle. I will buy the book in February. Is anyone attending school this semester or year? My class starts on 2/7 and I will start limiting my internet and technology time to three hours a day when it begins.

Good morning, Okie!!! No school for me except for training classes required for work. I've been through so much schooling that there's little more I can do, LOL Good luck w/ your education adventures, though!!!

Thank you to all of you for your kind words on my 5K. I think it's awesome that some of you are thinking of participating in one now!!! It's worth the experience...really gives you a feeling of accomplishment, regardless of your fnishing time. I hope to one day work up to at least a half-marathon. Seeing the people who finished it get their medals inspired me a little...I don't know if it was a little bit of the green eyed monster or more that I just want that accomplishment. But boy howdy is 13 miles different than 3, LOL

Eeek...I feel like I haven't done many personals lately and I do apologize for that, ladies. I hope that you're all doing well.

Morning,

Struggles are peeking up for some of you but you are not letting them in! Temptations will follow you when you go out, go with friends or work.
Be prepared. Mini snack bags filled with PLANNED snacks can be a life saver.
Mind over food. Happiness over a quick fix.
You and I can and will do this.

Yesterday I cooked up a storm! Roasted all kinds of veggies and made my version of Nats Confetti Chickpeas (I don't/didn't like chickpeas) and they were awesome.

I am so grateful that I love to cook and try new recipes.

Instead of Lou's doughnut I bought him a steak! (a rare treat). I also made an apple/celery/cranraisin/ Greek yogurt salad instead of drinking the apple!

So today brush away your temptations and say I DON'T
want you here!

Marcie

LADY WINDSONG - So glad to hear that you enjoyed the Confetti Chickpeas!!! I picked the recipe up from a cooking show I just happened to be watching one day. I love chickpeas, so it was a great recipe for me. And what an easy way to get in tons of veggies and a nice variety, too!!! I still have to work on getting my "jump bag" ready for SWAT callouts. At one point I had bought some of the stuff I needed for it and, as time went on and I didn't put it together, I used all the stuff I bought. So now I need to buy more (as well as the actual bag itself, LOL). But your suggestions are great!!! I sometimes will make some air-popped popcorn and put it in a plastic storage bag to carry w/ me for a snack later. It's definitely MUCH easier to face temptation and beat it if you've got an approved option right there w/ you.

Good Morning

I've been puttering around for awhile preparing for our departure to Idaho Spgs after we hit the pool tomorrow. I think I'll try for at least another hour of sleep.

Okie, thanks for getting us started this morning. I'm happy you'll be attending school again. Me, just my usual volunteering. The book sounds interesting-I haven't read it.

Natasha, I haven't done many personals, either, but it's checking in thats most important!I always read posts. I don't want to miss anything! My DH said he'd be interested in walking with me-look what you have started.

LadyWindsong, yay! for you finding a better choice for your DH, both with the steak and the salad. I've talked my DH away from ice cream:dp: but I understand it's up to me to find a replacement. Once we get to I Springs I'm going to try to make my own yogurt, which I can doctor for him. He can eat more than 1/2 qt per day if he's staying away from ICream. It should be fun. Thx for inspiring morning message. Sending my best to you today, too!

Wow...everyone is up and chatty early this morning!!! I had a rough night. My DH has some kind of virus and was up all night. A grown man throwing up has got to be the worse sound in the world! I am just hoping and praying it is just a passing virus...he has struggled with stomach issues for many years. In 2009, it was awful but he found a specialist and they have found some medicine that seems to help. Anytime he has a virus now he thinks he is going back to that terrible time when he was constantly sick. We have a two hour delay today due to ice but teachers report at regular time, so I had better get going!

Good morning, and thanks so much getting us started today, Okie!

It's a slippery mess outside and the police are advising everyone to wait til later to venture out, so I'm getting some laundry done with my extra time this morning. Jake left for work at his usual time and hasn't called me, so I guess he got there OK.

Thanks for your daily hints and inspiration, Marcie. Since I spend a lot of time in my car, I keep a stash of individual bags of nuts, and a box of clementines and apples in my car. They've saved the day for me countless times.

Good morning ladies!

Okie, I have to limit my internet time during the school year, too. I just can't get things done if I spend as much time online as I'd like to. That's one of the reasons I still haven't joined facebook. I'm taking 2 classes this semester (for recertification). I don't usually like to do more than one at a time, but these both look great and should be helpful. One meets at the middle school in town and the other is online so I won't have to travel.

Natasha, yesterday I signed up for a 5k walk on March 13th. It's called Mary's Walk and raises money for the Maine Cancer Foundation. I'm walking, not running, so I'm not worried about training, that's shorter than my usual walks and snowshoe treks. But I am a little nervous about raising pledges. I need to get busy.

Hi Marcie, I like your new ticker.

Debbie, I hope you're snoozing peacefully right now. I always get confused by 'today' and 'tomorrow' in the predawn posts... I'm thinking you're staying put today and driving on Wednesday? But if I'm wrong, drive safely today.
And either way, enjoy your day.

Lisa, I'm sorry. I hope your DH feels better very soon, and good luck dragging your sleep self to school today. Cottage, I'm glad you're able to take your time before heading out. Drive safely, ladies!

There's a storm on it's way, I'm wondering if we'll stay in school all day or if they'll send the kids home at noon. They all have emergency plans but the kids get stressed out and it seems there's always one kindergartner or first grader who gets off the bus to an empty house and then doesn't know what to do. It feels way too cold to even think about storming, so I've got my fingers crossed.

Ok, off to the shower - and my weigh in. I'm hoping I didn't do too much damage this weekend. I stayed away from blatant junk food but it was hard to eat totally on plan.

Enjoy your Tuesday friends!

Hey all,
Wow, everyone is up early today! I forgot that it was supposed to snow so was surprised to hear the plows outside. It's not bad though, and is supposed to be 40 degrees and rainy today and tomorrow, so hopefully we'll was all that black (and dog pee) stained snow away!

AF is on her way but refuses to actually arrive and it's so frustrating. I had weird dreams last night and feel depressed and anxious. Stayed on plan yesterday and believe I absolutely will until Friday when I weigh in again/begin Phase 2. I have a planned cheat this weekend. I am so excited. My friend who is a chef is having a fondue party! Can I just tell you how much I LOVE fondue. I'm making a white bean in proscuitto cup appetizer and was thinking of bringing a veggie appetizer too. I do plan to eat bread that night.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day. I'll try to check in again later. Karen, how are you feeling? Take it easy!
