http://www.foodforlife.com/

This is their website, they have pasta, and cereal, and tortillas...I cannot say enough good things about them really. They are a bit pricier than some of the other breads, but not as much as some of the ones I have seen that claim to be whole grain and are not even close.

Here is the sticky http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/sbd-...se-breads.html.

Hopefully the bread you bought says whole wheat flour, because if it just says wheat flour that means white, which is what we don't eat. Others have pointed out that some sugar is required for yeast to rise. Hopefully, they haven't added high fructose corn syrup.

Keeping my fingers crossed

Sugar is the third ingredient which means there is more sugar than yeast. There is also dry honey and molasses - all sugars. I'd avoid or severely limit it as it may set off cravings.

Yes, yeast does require sugar to rise but the sugars in this seems excessive.

Sorry, Sweetie. I know you were looking forward to bread. You could try this in limited quantities - like a half slice as salad croutons.

Ok, here is how I look at sugar in bread- there needs to be SOMETHING for the yeast to react to... that's how it works.

I'd look at carbs- how much fiber there is and how many sugars there are?

I've bought a loaf of bread but it's in the freezer. I'm a little afraid myself so all the bread I've had has been made by me in the bread machine. Still have to use 2 tsp of sugar though when making it.
