Default Changes you noticed beyond weight loss

Have any of you noticed other changes? SBD is for over all health, not just weight loss. I was wondering if any of you have noticed healthier hair, better skin, things like that?

After 2 weeks I've pretty stopped having to take TUMS. That is huge for me!

I have noticed that I have a lot more energy! That definitely helps with a very active 15 month old!! I hadn't really put the 2 tgether until right now, but my nails grow like crazy now! Except for during my pregnancy, I have never had to trim my nails; they would always break before it would be necessary. Now I have to trim them probably once a month or so because they get too long.

The most surprising change for me has been my moods. I've always been really up and down, even took anti-depressants for several years. After about the first 6 months of really clean SBD eating my moods started to level out and they've stayed that way. I never even suspected they were so impacted by my food choices.

My hubby noticed the lack of mood swings before I did. My energy level is sky high. I was able to stop taking my blood pressure medication within 6 months of starting and my cholesterol#'s have come down substantially, too.

My blood sugar is very stable, I no longer have those crash and dive moments where I get shaky and sick until I eat again.

I have noticed quite a few changes besides weight loss. I am a migraine sufferer, however since starting SB, the occurrence has greatly decreased. Also, no tummy troubles, like upset stomach or bloated feeling. Better skin and hair. More energy. I just feel better all over.

The first thing I noticed is my skin on my body was SO MUCH CLEARER! Seriously I used to get pimples and red bumps on my body it was so embarassing. Since switching over I haven't really had anything- my skin is smooth and beautiful now! It was amazing to me. Then I noticed that I felt better overall. I did have fatigue issues but after adding a multivitam I've been fine since

I will never go back to eating the way I did before- I'm loving life much more this way

I have noticed so many positive changes. I have way more energy, get fewer headaches (was a frequent migraine sufferer).

The biggest one (and this may be TMI for some people) is a HUUUUUGE reduction in PMS symptoms. I used to wake up in the middle of the night with cramps for every night for a week and have to spend some tiem with my heating pad almost every day, and since I've been beaching I've only had really mild cramps.

My skin is WAY smoother than it was before...seems to be a theme here. My hair also seems to be healthier and maybe even thicker, but that could be attributed to the Biotin I started taking. My blood pressure is significantly lower. My doctor changed my BP meds b/c I had a BP of 101/69 on my last visit. He expects to completely take me off my BP meds on my next visit. I also don't breath heavily anymore while doing mundane things like tying my shoes or whatever. It had gotten REALLY bad when I was at my highest weight.

My mood is much better now that I've replaced the self-loathing with some pride again. Also, not to be gross, but I was having some bathroom issues that seem to have resolved now that I'm eating healthier (and I go less a lot less often probably because I'm literally eating less crap).

I have only been doing this a few weeks, but I have noticed fewer headaches and just a general feeling of "good" Now some of the aches and pains that are starting to go away are because of the weight loss, but the over all feeling of good is because of better choices.

On a side note, a change I have noticed since I have basically hijacked the kitchen and made everyone in my house go on this whole new "diet" is that we spend more time together. I have four active teenagers and a very busy fiancee. Top that off with my own full time job and everything dinner was usually whatever one of the kids could throw from the freezer into the oven (or microwave) and we would all scatter and eat. Since we started this two weeks ago, its dinner at the table every night, no one wants to go out and grab a burger and we are really enjoying the time we have together.

I guess you could contribute that to SBD.

Within a few days of rebooting (ie P1) my skin starts to look a lot better. It looks clearer and I look more glowy and dare I say it, younger.
I have dark circles under my eyes that seem to improve a lot when I'm eating clean SBD.
I also notice a lot of PMS symptoms are reduced - however it is still the one time I get intense cravings for carbs. Although P1 is great for most of my cravings it doesn't seem to help with PMS cravings, and that's when I hit problems staying on plan.
I get a lot less heartburn too.
I keep starting and falling off the wagon...This is a great thread because it reminds me of all the benefits of SBD. Not just the weight loss.
