Phase 1 protien shakes (ie Myoplex, muscle milk, etc.)

  • what is acceptable on Phase 1 for protein shakes - I often have them on the go - any suggestions? Muscle Milk Light has zero sugars...lean body also has zero sugar -- are these ok??
  • I'm looking at a packet of Carb Watchers Lean Body by Labrada and see it has 1 g. of sugar...but I assume that is a milk sugar. It also has sucralose, but not much.

    Honestly, I wouldn't use them all the time. The point of SB is to redefine your diet with whole, healthful foods.

    What about making your own shakes? I make one for my husband and I in the morning and they take maybe a minute each. I use 1 scoop of pure whey protein, almond milk, berries and spinach - you could omit the fruit for phase 1. I've also made them with a tablespoon of cocoa powder, 1 teaspoon of natural peanut butter, almond milk and whey - that would be phase 1 appropriate.

    Buying the big tub and making them yourself is also much more economical than buying the single serve cartons

    btw, do you replace a meal with them or just use them as a snack?
