Aguave Necter
 

I've seen some of you talk about using aguave necter and I saw it in the store today. It has a lot of sugar and carbs in it, so I'm guessing that it does not work to use on phase 1 ?

Because agave is considered a fruit, it best to wait until you are on Phase 2 to use it. Agave nectar is very low on the glycemic scale and won't cause your blood sugar to spike, so it is especially recommended for diabetics. It makes a great substitute for honey or molasses in recipes, but it does contain calories, so keep that in mind.
