boiled peanuts

  • Are they okay on phase 1? I have read a thread that said no but cant find it in the book
  • Peanuts are listed in the Phase I Food List above. 20 per serving - roasted or boiled.
  • You might want to drink some extra water though. Boiled peanuts are usually loaded with salt. But they sure are yummy!!!

  • aren't these boiled in oil? I remember eating some before reading the ingredients and info and being horrified.
  • I have never boiled them in oil. Only water and salt. I have never asked how they make them elsewhere, but my family only ever did water and salt and peanuts.

  • Thanks Tammie - I just looked them up (could have done that first!) and discovered they are nothing like those evil peanuts we got at Trader Joe. They sound interesting. Are they like edamame?
  • The best way I can describe it is they are just mushy peanuts. The way we always ate them was you would suck the peanut shell and all and get the "salty water" out and then just would open it up and the peanuts inside. You have to use the "greener" peanuts. The ones that aren't quite ripe for the best boiled peanuts.

Here is South Alabama I guess I live in the peanut capital of the world. LOL Or atleast they claim to be. They have a peanut princess and peanut festival.
