I read somewhere (forget where) that whole wheat pasta has a lower glycemic index than brown rice. I'm surprised, because I seem to have been under the impression that brown rice was the perfect health food. I do love pasta, but am wondering what others think of this. Certainly, brown rice is less "processed" than whole wheat pasta.

Have you tried Dreamsfield pasta? It has a GI of 13 and something like 5g digestible carbs per serving!! Even DH likes it and will eat it (he hates brown rice and whole wheat pasta and will not eat either). The only thing I notice is that it makes me a bit gassy, but I figure it's worth it to eat semi-guilt-free pasta!!
