So Frustrated (Blood Sugar)

  • Good morning!

I mentioned when I joined here that I had just been diagnosed with reactive hypoglycemia. I am so frustrated this morning. I woke up feeling very shaky so I took my BS. It was 67. Ate a breakfast of egg beaters with ff cheese, 2 slices of turkey bacon, soymilk and V-8 juice. An hour later it was up to 78. Took it again 2 hours after breakfast and it's back down again to 68.

I'm eating a snack now of soymilk and mixed nuts. I don't know what to do to keep it up so that I don't tremble all over. It's getting really frustrating.

Anyone else have any experience with this and have some suggestions?
  • I'm really sorry you are dealing with this, I guess all I can say is eat as often as possible? Lots of small meals throughout the day to keep your BS up?
  • I just read this interesting article about legumes stabilizing blood sugar. I'll try to post the link here.

  • Thanks! I love beans, but don't eat near enough of them. I don't know why either.
