Default My job is a SCAM and I want FOOD

The place a just started working for is a scam. So now I have no job, no money because I bought new work clothes and I am starving because I didn't eat enough veggies.

I just want to shove anything down my throat!! (haven't yet!)

How I handle this with out food?

For your family and friends I am thanking you for being so bright and aware to look into things before blindly obeying.

It hurts now but it hurts much less than if you hadn't figured it out first.

Go for a walk. Get on the computer and start a blog. Do yoga. Try on your new clothes and model them in front of a mirror. DO NOT GO IN THE KITCHEN!

You are such a smart woman to pick up on the scam. What a blessing you are to your friends and family!

Sorry to hear your new job turned out to be a scam. I'm glad that you caught it early on. When one door closes another one opens.

As for food... remember that your time would be better spent looking for another job than it would be trying to eat away your problems.

Wow...sorry that the job turned out like that but pat yourself on the back for figuring that out! I bet there is a much better job waiting on you! I am an emotional eater and it has taken me many years to figure that out and it only makes things worse so don't push down your feelings with food! All the suggestions here are great and they will help me during my next crisis!

Good for you for recognizing it right away. Sounds like you did the right thing even though it's really hard for you personally. I hope you made it through the rest of the day without jumping on the food roller coaster.

Your task for today, should you accept it, is to write a list of things you can do when you are really stressed before you eat. Obviously if it's meal time eat a healthy, planned meal because true hunger will just increase your stress. What are the things you can do when life gets overwhelming. Seriously write a list and put copies everywhere and anywhere. I have them on all my computers, my fridge, in my purse. Then promise yourself that you will try some of those things (pick a number) before you reach for food. It really does help to have a plan in place ahead of time. No one thinks clearly when life is crashing down on them.

Some of my stuff -
  • go for a walk
  • play a computer game
  • read a silly magazine
  • chat with a friend
  • post here!
  • clean a corner that's been waiting
  • in the good weather - work in the garden or mow part of the lawn (those things always need to be done in the summer)

If I was still a crafter that would be on top of my list. It sounds silly but give it a try. I rely on that list and my list of "reasons I want to lose weight" to keep me grounded when I start sliding off the rails.

Great suggestions, Cyndi. I definitely find that any activity(other than eating) helps. On P1, when I just had that overwhelming urge to eat, I would go to bed early. I always felt so much better in the morning for not succombing to my addiction to food.

Today, I really try to remember that when I'm stressing about something external-eating poorly only accomplishes one thing-taking it out on myself.

Hope you made it through ok, AJ.

I didn't eat. I actually weighed myself and I was @ 158 at night which means I will be less at reg weigh in in the am. it made me feel better.

I just feel stupid. I feels manipulated.

Cyndi! I am going to really tackle that today. What else do I have to do right?

If this make you feel better:
I work for the worst kind of people...
They are rude and obnoxious and think they know everything...
and I am stuck here because of the economy
I make so little that I live in a shoebox that I can bearly fit.
My love life is a mess and I live thousands and thousands of miles away from my family, friends and culture...
ahhh... lost my purse last Thursday with all my documents (american and non american)...
And you know what??? on top of all this failure I wont put one more: being fat.
So, remember... if you eat you will feel good for only few minutes and it will only make things worse...
so do like me: I try to be successful in at least one thing: My diet
