Back on the beach
Just wanted to say "hi," since I've been a lapsed beacher for the past six months. Fortunately, I managed to only gain 3 lbs in that time, and maintained the rest of my 20lb loss from this time last year. I started P1 at the new year, and am down 4lbs after the first week, so I'm back below my original goal weight. That said, I'm getting married in June, so I have a whole new goal weight (that I don't realistically expect to maintain much after the wedding, nor do I particularly want to) that I am working toward.
Didn't post at all during week one, but hearing you ladies in the back of my head definitely kept me OP! And I forgot how much fun I had last year trying SB friendly recipes... Chicken Divan in the oven as we speak

Hi and back!
Can I ask a question? Feel free to tell me to bug off but why would you want to get to a weight for a wedding day that you have no intention of maintaining? Don't you want to look like, well, you in pics? I guess I am confused (maybe I just feel slapped/jealous a bit?). I'd work too hard to take off weight (and have!) to know I have no intention of maintaining it.
Thanks for helping me figure it out!

totally fair question, and i guess the only real answer i can give is... well, vanity, i suppose! i am more or less happy with my current weight... i could stand to lose more, but this seems to be my body's "happy weight".... as long as i am relatively careful, i don't struggle to maintain. any lower, i have to work quite hard at it (and, well, any higher and it starts to snowball a bit). So, to rephrase... while i'd like to maintain my eventual "wedding weight," i kind of feel that i may just be happier in the long run where i currently am.
Does that even make sense? Sorry if it doesn't!

Welcome to you and congrats on your wedding! Married life is a trip, but a good one. I'm with Jenn. Instead of trying to lose weight, why not embark on one of those bride bootcamp fitness programs if you want to look hot on your day? You might like the exercise enough to keep with it, and frankly if you lose 10 lbs. now with no intention to keep it off, you may screw your metabolism up. In any case, have a wonderful wedding.

It makes sense, in how you are describing it. I still can't wrap my head around it but either way I am sure you will look fabulous on your big day!
