Successful on first day of Phase 1.5

Today was my first day on phase two and I'm adjusting to it well. :carrot: I had oatmeal for breakfast but added egg whites and 1/4 c plain yogurt to make sure I had enough protein. I've pretty much stuck to phase 1 foods for the rest of the day but I plan on adding some berries to my ricotta for dessert.

I've been full all day just like I was on phase 1.

There was one day on phase 1 when I ate some ritz crackers and no matter how many I ate I could not get full. That's when I KNEW I was carb sensitive and South Beach was the plan for me. Since then I've made sure I eat protein and veggie packed meals.

:congrat: KKBs! Great work on starting Phase 2 carefully and mindfully. Try having cottage cheese instead of yogurt for that protein: yogurt, while it has protein, is processed as a starch, while cheeses (soft and hard) are processed as protein.

Love that you had that moment of awareness with the ritz crackers. I've had a couple of those over the years and they have definitely told me that this is the right plan for me, too. Keep up the good work! :bravo:

Laurie - that's interesting about the cottage cheese vs. yogurt. I've never heard that. Actually my diabetic DW has read the exact opposite, that the sugars in yogurt are processed differently than other sugars. Do you have any more information about that? I'd love to read more about it. Always trying to get a handle on these things :)
