Ok my numbers may not be exact cause I'm trying to remember off the top of my head but here are my first 4 weeks numbers
wk 1 -3.7 lbs
wk 2 -1.6
wk 3 -.2
wk 4 -.4
so a total of 6 lbs. I guess my concern is the last 2 weeks. The only things I've introduced back in are apples (eaten every time with PB, and limited to 1/day), some whole wheat bread (meets all of SB criteria, and only ate 3 slices the whole week), and I made pizza with homemade whole wheat crust (no sugar, EVOO) So do these numbers look about right, or should I try cutting out the apples? I have been eating 1/ day almost every day as a snack at night. The only time I've gone off plan was wk 3 was Thanksgiving and I did eat off plan some, but was still good compared to what I could have been.
I think these numbers are great! I find that an average of 1 pound a week is HEALTHY ... if one week you see a peak or decrease in this thats okay. It seems to have worked in your favor with Thanksgiving and everything .. so good for you! keep up the good work!
My nutritionist says even losing .5 lbs a week is STILL good. And sometimes you'll see no loss very little, then all of a sudden a big loss- just don't give up!
thanks!! I definately don't plan on giving up!! Just a little discouraged, and worried I was doing something wrong. As long as the number keeps going down I will be happy!!!
Remember, a very important part of this is tracking NSV's(Non Scale Victories). How do you feel when you are eating OP? Tracking measurements and how your clothes are fitting is another. For me, a really important NSV was getting off blood pressure meds sometime in the first 3 months. My bp is now lower than it ever was on meds.
When I started SB, I made myself a commitment to stay OP for 6 months before reevaluating my choice of SB. We're all different, but there are so many individual factors involved.
My rationale was this; I couldn't be doing anything bad by commiting to eating healthy for 6 months...I'm so glad I stuck with it.
And to answer your question about the apples, I would not stop eating them. They are healthy and if you're eating one per day, taking them out would not be a wise nutritional choice (in my opinion).
Thanks Lexxiss. I do feel better and I'm back into size 14 pants, so that is great!! I seem to have more energy too!! I know I'm eating healthier so I'm happy to eat this way whether i lose weight, but want to lose too! LOL I love my apples and plan to keep enjoying them! Thanks!!!
I think you're doing great. Some of us go weeks without losing anything, but pants are looser. How much cheese are you eating? I found I lost better if I limited cheese to 2 servings per day.
Anne, I usually only have two cheese a day. A cheese stick snack and then sometimes cheese with my dinner meal depending on what I'm eating. I had actually read that some people lose when they increase their dairy. I thought about drinking a glass of skim milk at some point during the day. we shall see.
Just thought I would chime in about the PB... I just wanted to say that I wasn't losing for a bit and finally got out the scale and measured out a serving of pb... I was eating 2-3 servings by eyeballing it thinking I was just getting a serving... once I started weighing instead of spooning the scale started moving again ;0)
Briggsy, those are really good numbers, especially since you are so close to your goal! We have the same goal, and when I was at your weight, I went for over a year without getting below 193, even though I felt like I was working my behind off! So I think you are doing FANTASTIC!
Are you exercising yet? If not, you may want to add that in. It'll make the numbers even higher...and ensure (if you do strength training, which you should) that you are losing fat, not muscle.
