The "On Plan" Thread for the week of 11/9/2009
It's time for a new week of talking On-Plan!
Anyone, from any phase (1, 1.5, 2, 3, etc.) can post, and those who are new to 3FC are especially encouraged to do so!
This thread is for questions, sharing advice and strategies, and encouraging each other to stay on plan. It is not for chatting about daily life unrelated to this topic. Members have indicated that they would like to have chatting remain in the Daily Thread, so any posts that are off topic or chatty will be moved by the mods to the Daily.
Because people from different parts of the plan are posting here, it'll help everyone if you indicate what phase you're in when you post. Thanks!
While you may certainly find, from time to time, the need to ask for help after going off plan, remember that this thread is about staying on plan. When you share details of off plan foods you've eaten, it can upset, tempt, and otherwise frustrate other members, so please keep these details to a minimum.
So, share with us: How are you staying on plan this week?

I'm staying OP this week by starting this thread because it's really helpful for me.
Temptations is what I'm thinking about as we get closer to the holidays. I just left Costco and all sorts of new goodies are showing up. Absolutely irresistable foods kept popping into my vision as I scanned the aisles for the items I'd come in for.
I've started using a new technique which came from my Yoga classes. I turn my head the other way and "breathe"... Then focus on something else.
Other than that, I'm staying pretty focused right now. As I get further into P2, it seems to get a bit easier to just think that one bite of something is OK. This week, anyway, I'm committing to not "one biting" anything off plan. I don't have any cravings right now and I'm satisfied with my meals so why tempt fate.
I'm back to the unfun side of the divide and will continue to focus on exercise.
Have a great OP week everyone.

The "On Plan" Thread for the Week of 11/9/09
Hi, everyone! Here's to another OP week! <--that's dry red wine.
Thanks for starting us up, Lexiss! I had a hard time getting a new thread started...had to try three times, for some reason!
I didn't plan well on Saturday and ended up hungry and eating popcorn at a bar. Otherwise, the weekend went well, though. I'm looking forward to another OP week! How about you?

Back OP after a bad weekend. Ate too much and drank too much alcohol Saturday night, then felt sick all day yesterday. Feel much better today after restarting.
B: Cinnamon omelet & V8
S: RF cheese stick
L: Large assorted veggie salad with deli turkey and LF dressing
S: Greek yogurt & Honeycrisp apple, Skinny latte
D: Chili with ground lean turkey & lots of beans
S: Almonds

Yup, Laurie, I'm definitely looking forward to another On Plan week.
Debbie, thank you for starting this OP thread. It's a real encouragement for me.
I have a junk food filled week ahead this week - one celebration after another and they're things I really must attend. I'll be bringing my own on plan snacks and I expect to make good choices, but to tell you the truth I'll be really glad when Saturday gets here.
On a brighter note, I've found a walking partner. My friend Rita and I are going to walk after school several days a week starting tomorrow. We'll walk outside now and move to walking the long hallways on days when the weather is bad. I'm really pleased about this. My foot is still so sore, I'm thinking that I'll feel more like walking when I don't have to go alone, and since we'll chat as we walk I'm hoping that will be a distraction. lol

Was off plan (OXP?) yesterday but pulling up my socks today!
B. oatmeal, skim milk, dried peaches
L. shrimp Caesar salad - no croutons or bacon - I guess that's just a salad
D. more salad plus one piece of the healthy leftover lasagna from last night - ww noodles, LF ricotta, spinach and zucchini
Snacks don't seem needed for me except late afternoon - an apple maybe. I try to remember a glass of V8 mid-morning.

I'm going to try a few days of P1 because my weight is just creeping up for no obvious reason. Friday I'm heading to my parents and would like to be back to eating fruit so that gives me three days of P1.
B-refried beans, salsa, spinach
S - ff cottage cheese
L - split pea soup with cabbage
S - salad
D - leftovers of some kind, maybe veggie chili loaded with vegetables
Exercise will be a walk or two for 60 minutes total

I'm down another 2 pounds this morning so feeling very motivated to stay on plan! In my past experiences the first 20 always come off pretty fast for me but then things s-l-o-w way down no matter how faithful I am. I'm really glad I'll have this thread to keep me focused when the scale slows down.
B: Oatmeal and V-8
S: red peppers & hommus
L: steamed veggies and grilled chicken
S: yogurt
D: chili, salad and a SF jello

Yeah! phaseI for me!
B: omelette with onion, mushroom, black beans, and LF cheese
S: if wanted, cheese stick
L: tuna canellini salad w/peppers celery, onion, tomatoes
S: veggies n dip
D: oh, what were we going to have? I think hamburger steak, gravy and red potatoes for DH and kids, asparagus, I can't remember what else....I'll find the menu somewhere!
...wound up having smothered hamburger steak (a mountain of mushrooms and onions with a sprinkle of cheese) and a side of cooked cabbage. I'm eating cashews as we speak

Ph 2
Meal 1
McGriddle Muffin ( I renamed it b/c that's what it tasted like!)
Meal 2
1/4 cup mixed nuts with 1/2 cup Puffed Kamut
Meal 3
Tuna Artichoke spinach loaf (so darn good!)
Meal 4 string cheese
Meal 5
Good Question!
If it's pasta for the hubs it might be Tuna loaf for me
or I'll bust out some ground turkey
