WOW, we're a chatty bunch today! We had loud, bright storms roll through last night. Auston woke me up at 4:30 scared. He got in bed with us and said, "I think it's a HURRICANE!" We didn't sleep much after that. We'll both need a nap this afternoon. His dad has the ability to sleep through anything -- snoring through the hurricane.

Cottage: I loved Little House books when I was a kid. Do you think a boy would enjoy them? I'd love to read them to him. I don't remember food porn. I remember them talking about bean soup on a winter day. Yum!

Chelby, I think a boy would like them too! Farmer Boy would be a great one to try as it's told from the point-of-view of a boy. It's the only one with real food porn. Laura's family was far too poor to afford much in the way of fancy food or big meals. Almanzo's family was very wealthy, comparatively. They ate massive breakfasts before working on the farm. Lots o' food porn. The rest of the series is food porn free.

another quick hello while the wee ones are eating their lunch. And yes I am a child care provider. I have been doing it for 15 years. I love them like they are my own. Somedays I get a chance to get on the computer some days no... just depends. Well if you can imagine lunch is done already go figure.

Busy day at work ready to go to lunch but have to wait for other supervisors to get back from meeting so I can go.

I am going nutsy with our "guests" I come home to a very messy house every night. Yikes!!!!! Tomorrow I am wfh and making them go somewhere with DH so I can work in peace and the house will be neat.

chelby - I have always read Brian books before bed. He's 11 now but I think we read the Little House series about 4 or 5 years ago. We both enjoyed them and they were easy to get at the library. We also read over 100 Boxcar kid books, Magic Treehouse books, Chronicles of Narnia and many other series. We are just about to finish a Harry Potter book now and he's finally told me he is ready to give up having me read to him at night. I'll miss it.

We had a PTA meeting/Open House at the school tonight and then we took the dog for a long walk/run with bike ride for Brian. I think Brian is the only one not tired.

Don wants to do lunch tomorrow. I hope we can manage it. By the time he got free today it was almost time for me to get Brian. Maybe I can get him to put the dog door in. We're supposed to have more rain tomorrow and it would come in handy.
