Laurie-

I was going to suggest ad-aware and spybot - both free programs that pick up some of the stuff that slows your computer down. I need to run them every week now that I use facebook.

back to work for me

hey gals... another late start for us this morning.... this time change is gettin harder as i get older lol.... kenedie was late for school, kids were all out of wack... i started my TOM so im cranky as can be lol... oh ya a grand start for the day... theres a huge cold front moving in and supposed to get really freakin cold here later on today... i really dont care as long as its semi nice next week when the kids are out for march break. nothing like havin 5 kids all bored outta their minds at the same time...

twynne... oh wow girl my heart is breakin for ya. i would be losing my mind! im a control freak and having a situation like that would probably set me over the edge lol.... nothinig i say is gonna make it better so im not even gonna try, youre mad and you have every right to be.

chelby--get some sleep!! lol... take the flannel off the bed, it might help lol
cottage--we just bought this house 9 months ago.. i thought oh boy a jet tub!! ive used it once i have no patience for baths... and no time either for that matter. hope yours wa a good one!!
ruth-- a few yrs ago i cleaned for my ex hubbys aunt. she had her own business. i hated it!!! the one house i did had 3 children, and i had to straighten their toys!! 700 pieces of freakin lego!! and they wanted it "sorted" into the different sizes, and colours!! lol. its nice that ya get the "stuff" outta the way for her.
oh1 get this... last week i said to john "hey, how come i cant take a full shower without freezing??" he said he noticed that too, so down the stairs he goes... comes up laughing his head off... "ummmm while you were down there doin laundry one of the kids musta turned the nob... they had it on vacation mode!!!!!" had to share that lol
beach-- cant you reformat?? facebook messes up my laptop too, but i still go on lol.. just try to stay away from the apps. i had trouble a few days ago gettin on here, had to use netscape instead of internet explorer.
thoughtful--can i borrow some of your energy? mine seems to be MIA lol
elusive-- my sis in law is from England... i get a kick out of her and they way she talks. when her parents come over, i just sit in awe of them. their humour is "brilliant' lol... i told my kids "we are gonna have one day here where we only talk with an english accent like auntie sarah" i find it too hard to get mad and yell when im talkin with a posh accent lol
ive been chatting with a gal on the net for 7 years now. shes such a sweet gal. we have become great friends. she told me once she was going to a "boot sale" i said "oh cool, what kinda boots are ya gonna buy?" she laughed her a** off, a boot is the trunk of your car, its like a yard sale that we have here. apparently yard sales are illegal there so a space is used for everyone to rent and take their cars there and sell outta the boot lol. i thought that was neat.
well to those ive forgotten, have a great day!
im out for now, take care ya'll

stacy xxx

Stacy, I will gladly give you some of my energy! I am dreading my TOM, which is due any day now. I hate that sluggish feeling that I get the first few days.

Hello Chicks... life has been crazy busy. I can't seem to get in here at all lately. I am lucky to get my emails checked. Maybe I should pay you chicks for PM each day and then I would get an email and I would check it.... to nosy not to. lol. Oh well eating has been so so but i did go to badminton the other night and that was fun. Tomorrow night I am going to go to a stretch and tone class. Well I hate to run already but it is near the end of day and need to get everyone organized for going home. Take care and I promise to try to get in here more.

1 cup fresh berries
1 tablespoon dark rum (optional)
4 fresh mint leaves for garnish (optional)

Actually (and this is shameful to admit) I did go through the ingredients: oats - check; berries - check; vanilla - check; little bit of booze - check. Hmmm, doesn't seem so bad, I mean oats and berries are good for you, right?? And this is the reason I am still staying with simple meals.

It's the heavy cream that's the problem mizski. Wonder if you could use a mix of SF cool whip and SF vanilla pudding?

Here's the recipe for the soup I was raving about last week: Lentil Soup with Cauliflower and Yogurt. It's amazing.

Default still getting the hang of this...

So I've read through all the posts but I can't seem to remember everything to respond to...hopefully I'll get better at this as I go!

Elusivekoolaid...thanks for the recipe! I was thinking shortbread would be easy (and someone told me it's Scottish???) But yours sounds a little more fun. Now I'll just have to be sure not to taste as I go Love all the turns of phrases too. My husband has been doing family research lately and discovered his great-grandfather came from Scotland...Lanark? (don't know if that's spelled right). He really wants to come over and check everything out...maybe someday...

Congratulations on those who've lost lbs! Way to go!

Are we supposed to post menus that we're planning on eating or what we've eaten? I don't plan what I'm eating ahead of time, just keep good stuff in the house and eat what sounds good at the moment. This is what I've had so far today...

2 eggs w/ salsa, 2 pc. turkey bacon, tea w/ milk & splenda
some nuts (small handfull)
salad w/ grilled chicken & iced tea for lunch
cheesestick for snack
Tonight is leftover night, so I think I'm going to do a bean tostaday w/ my cheese tortilla shell...whoever came up with that idea is brilliant!!!

Hope everyone finishes strong today

Jenny

jenny - You can post either. Sometimes I post what I'm planning to fix and sometimes I wait until I have fixed it. Tonight is chicken. Brian's has pesto and cheddar cheese and mine has avocado and swiss cheese. We are both happier now that I realized that it is so easy to fix them at the same time. We're having leftover whole wheat stuffing that I froze from Thanksgiving along with heart of palm and some other vegetable.

Today has been really wet. Over 3 inches of rain so far and it's supposed to rain all night. I've taken Rex out several times in the rain but we still had one accident. I'm hoping we get a short break in the rain some time tonight. We needed the rain but now there is a flood watch.

Just got back from the library book sale. Got some great cookbooks and awesome children's books. At a quarter an inch, you can't beat the price.

mizski & laurie: all in all the recipe isn't too bad if you made a few minor adjustments, it could be quite south beach friendly. It's a very mousey texture and is lovely and fresh tasting from the berries.

jennygirl: shortbread is very scottish. you can do rectangular blocks or in a circle with decorated edges for petticoats! And, aye lanarkshire is a large area and she'd be in good company!!! That's William Wallace territory!
