Default Tasteful Tuesday

Wow, look at me, starting the daily chat!! DH left his alarm on snooze when he got in the shower, so I'm up an hour early.
Back to school for the kids today, but only half a day. Anything helps at this point. I've got two teleconferences this morning and DD's parent-teacher conference this afternoon, otherwise a run-of-the-mill day around here.
In a little bit I'm going to go get a beef stew going in the crock pot. I sure wish DH had brought me some coffee before he left (it's the least he could do, right?), but I guess I'm on my own. Have a great day chickies!

Schmoodle wins the Early Bird prize today! I hope you've had your coffee by now, but here's a cup from me. Being disturbed by a snooze alarm is not a good way to start the day!

The schools are on a delay this morning with these icy roads, but the sun is shining, so all should be well. I imagine we'll be spending the afternoon outside tobagganing and playing in the snow one last time. I'd better bundle up since we're going to stay in the 20s!

Sunshine here but it's also -4ºF so March certainly "lion"ed in! I hope we get up to the 20s. The good news is that the lake in the yard will stay frozen so there will be no muddy paws to contend with.

Nothing much on my list today although Disney and I do have a visit to the nursing home late this afternoon. I didn't get around to cranking up the crock pot yesterday so that's on today's agenda. I love my crock pot!

Hope your day holds some hints of Spring.

Good morning all

Schmoodle - Cetainly sounds like you were owed a cup of coffee

Cottage - Hope the girls enjoy the LAST snow of the season!

Ruth - Do you slide from winter into mud season there too? I love the spring but I'm not so fond of the mud.

Just another day on tap around here today. I'm deciding between finger paint and putty for my toddler visit this morning. That should be fun. It is starting to hit me that I really might get laid off come July 1 and it's kind of weird. After almost 11 years it's hard to imagine not going in there every day. I'm pretty relaxed about the whole thing because really there is absolutely nothing I can do to change things, only time will tell.

I'm getting back on track after the last two weeks of less than stellar eating. Trying to avoid Rikki's foot

Hope the sun shines through no matter what your temperature!

Goodmorning Ladies! I just finished off a delightful protein shake and then waited for the bus with my kids. I gotta tell you, that blast of cold air at 7:00am definitely refreshes me for the day.

It is mass cleaning day since both my kids are at school. DS is in JK so he doesn't go everyday.

I think I'm going to brave a walk this afternoon. It may be cold, but that delicious sunshine is calling to me.

Have a wonderful day!

Afternoon ladies...just stopping by on my lunch break!!!

Schmoodle: It sounds like your day is going to be quite busy. I hope your stew turns out nice!

Cottage: Have fun playing in the snow!

Ruth: Oooo watcha gonna put in the crockpot?!

Cyndi: I hope everything works out for you job wise. What's for you won't go by you!

Steen: Your refreshing walk sounds nice! It's splosh splosh here as we've only received rain so far.

As for me! They are predicting heavy wintry mixes for the west of scotland but the sun is shining defiantly. I dunno, this country is nuts! It's the only place you get all four seasons in one day! I better hop to it...the customers are out there and I think they're organizing!

for all!

Good morning, everyone. DH is up early as he and his boss have to head to one of the state's properties with a Game Warden to take some GPS measurements for a court case. He hasn't been on the road in a week or so and I hope he enjoys it! I woke up with him out of habit, so it was an early morning for me.

Schmoodle: Bummer about your DH's alarm clock, but I'm betting you'll be getting a little extra done this morning because of it. I'm happy that DH at least started the coffee this morning. (But that's just because he'll be on the road and not in the office. I'll be responsible for my own coffee needs tomorrow.)

Cottage: What a fun day! I wish we had had a real winter this year. It only snowed once, in November. Stay warm and enjoy your day!

Ruth: Okay, maybe I don't want a real winter that badly! I hope you and Disney have a very safe day today and enjoy your nursing home visit! I'm in love with my Crock Pot as well. I'm considering purchasing a second so I can prepare two meals ahead of time instead of just the one.

Cyndi: I'm very refreshed by your attitude regarding July and what may come. I can't imagine you not doing what you love so much that you've stayed, happily, for 11 years. I like what koolaid said, "What's for you won't go by you." Enjoy your paint or putty time with the kids!

Steen: Enjoy your chilly walk! A blast of cold air in the morning is a great pick-me-up!

Jenny: I hope the sun stays shining for you today! I hope you were able to deal with the ranks of customers! I'm sure you've handled it nicely already.

stacy: Good morning! I'm glad you're in such a great mood and that the scale is movin' for you! Keep up the great work! Isn't this the best place to come in the morning?

Me: Since I got up early with DH, I ate breakfast (I usually end up eating at work), the dishes are done and the bed is made. It's nice to leave the house clean in the morning and come back in the evening with minimal chores to do.

Today will be a big test at work. WARNING: food porn ahead!! One of my appraisers' birthdays is today and we always bring a cake and ice cream and take her out to lunch. We take turns with the duties. Well, my friend made her yellow cake with chocolate frosting and I bought vanilla bean ice cream, which is my favorite birthday combo!! To top it off, birthday girl wants a big, juicy burger for lunch! I'm preparing now so that I can stay strong and fend off the desire to indulge. I will be packing a big, healthy snack to eat before the goodies are served.

Okay, time for me to hit the showers! I hope everyone has a great morning and here's some for us to share! (I'll happily take someone's else's portion if they don't need it today! )

i just wanted to get something off my chest... last night john and i went to get a few things at the store.. it was cold out... i mean really freaking cold out! so i had my blackberry with me,(never leave home without it lol) and i went on facebook and posted "holy mother of pearl it is cold out there!" on my status..... this gal who i didnt like very much in school, i only added her as a friend so i could get in touch with other people i did like, commented on my status.... well! i wasnt very pleased. she was very rude, telling me that i was a Canadian and should be used to it. i nearly flipped my lid, like being a Canadian makes you not feel -23 without the wind chill factor!! i soooo wanted to be a highschool student again and tell her off... i thought and thought.... then i retaliated. now i feel kinda stupid that i lowered myself to her level. but boy! did i wanna say more! anything like this ever happen to any of ya'll?? where someone offends you and you wanna reduce yourself and tell em off?? just wondering lololol

Stacy,

It's the same thing when I complain about the heat. People assume that because I'm from the Caribbean I should feel happy and joyful in 102-degree heat with a dew point of 88. What the ????

Yeah... you should have let it go. But you didn't. So NOW you should let it go. Live, learn, move on. And don't beat yourself up for being a wee bit catty. It's fun sometimes.

Next time you'll remember my favorite mantra:

Cast no pearls before swine!

Hi chicks, I wonder if I will ever get more than a quick check in, by the time I read everything I barely have time to say hello. So here is a quick hello. I have a million things on my to do list. Plus I need to get ready for a fundraising meeting. Have a great day.

Good Morning!

Got on the scale this morning. My trip to Louisiana cost me 5 pounds! Oh, well... Back on the wagon. Got a big pot of chili in the crock pot and the starting of broccoli soup for lunch. Phase 1 for me for a few days.

Schmoodle: Waking up an hour early is great only if the kids stay in bed!

Cottage: Have fun playing in the snow!

Ruth: Love your new icon picture! Stay safe on the roads today.

Cyndi: Auston loves playdough. And it come off the carpet easily.

Steen: What is JK? My 5 year old is in 4K and he only goes 4 days a week.

Koolaid: What do you do for a living? Keeping customers happy can be hard work.

Stacy: I bloody my lips trying not to use my smart mouth. It's hard!

Kim: Be strong!

Diva: I complain all winter long about being cold, so I feel like I can't complain in the summer, too. Bring on 102*!

Rikki: Heard anything? I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you!

Little Chick and Zeffryn: Good morning!
