It was a very bad day eating and all around yesterday. I thought I was making smart choices but didn't have time to read labels.

OMG who puts CORNSTACH in CASHEWS????????????

It set me off and I am doing Ph1 for a few days to get the cravings to subside. DW made the spinach quiche last night and it was YUM. Good recipe!

Off to have a cheese stick...busy day at work!

Oh my gosh, chicks, I am just buried right now. I got back from Huntsville late last night and up at 5AM this morning trying to get everything done. I can't wait for January to be over - I am hoping life will get back to somewhat normal then.

This board is so busy and I surely won't be able to catch up for a while, but I hope all the chicks are well and happy and look forward to getting to know the newbies to the board and catching up with the returnees.

On the positive side, I am making some progress with getting food back under control. This has been a pretty good week, especially considering all the stress, travel, and lack of sleep. I don't know if I will show a loss, but at least I have done the detox and the cravings seem to have gone (phew!). I should have a chance to plan menus and grocery shop over the weekend, so next week I should be in good shape.

DH will start his new job next week too, so he will be out of the house all day - don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing yet!

Anyway, just wanted to let everyone know I am alive and still in the battle. Hope to be back with you all on a more regular basis soon.

Zeff - enjoy your mom and the help for a few more days. Then your routine will go back to normal (or your new "normal"). I think having someone else in your house, your routine being changed, new ways of doing things, etc, it is only reasonable that you would feel like that. Plus the extra hormones doesn't help!! It was nice of you to apologize to your mom!!

Jenn - cornstarch in Cashews?? Nope, I wouldn't have guessed either!

Boy, I was so hungry yesterday. I stayed OP, only eating SB foods... but I felt guilty because I knew I was eating more than normal. But my appetite was just more than usual. Glad I know some tricks now... sticking to more protein in situations like this! Eventually my appetite calmed down and I was able to eat a reasonable dinner. I have gotten back to the SF fudge bar/peanut butter treat in the evening. I look forward to it now!

Quiet day here. DD and I are going to try out a new Children's Museum after lunch. It isn't officially open yet, but they have a special play area set up to get your hooked I think. It is only minutes away, so I want to see what it is all about. Plus gives DD and I something to do this afternoon, girls time!

I passed out last night at 8:30pm. I was just so exhausted. I slept great in the chair while DH watched TV. He woke me when he went to bed and I went right back to sleep. What a difference that extra sleep made in my workout this morning. I had so much energy! I was flying on the ellipitical!

I just ordered a new cross stitch project off eBay. I need something to keep my hands busy at night. It is a small snowman banner. It will take me all year to finish it anyway! Just in time for next Christmas!

We haven't see a post from Weezle in a while. I hope she OK. I know they had a money scare before the holidays, I hope they worked something out!!

Good afternoon chickies
I'm just starting my day really. I slept most of the day yesterday so night sleep didn't really come. Feeling a touch better today. Could someone please direct me to the South Beach Baked Beans, would love to make them for the weekend. Eating hasn't been too bad because the appetite isn't there.

DP has a full time real job with actual benefits (way better than mine!) starting the 20th. Thanks for all the thoughts and well wishes.

Here is my baked bean creation. I'm not posting it above because, as some of you know, I don't measure.
2 cups dried beans soaked overnight - place in crockpot and cover with water. Cook for 3-4 hours. I added to Not Beef cubes for extra flavor but probably didn't need them.
Add:
2 T extra hearty molasses or your SBD approved alternative
(I added some extra agave but won't again because it was sweeter than we like. Depends on your taste buds)
1 can Muir Glen Adobe tomatoes
a couple of splashes soy sauce
1 onion cut small
4-5 cloves garlic
1 t dried mustard (I'm guessing at amount, I just shook until it seemed like enough)
a few turns fresh pepper

let it all cook on low for another few hours. I tossed some Smart Dogs on top the last hour which may have added some smokiness to it.

Cyndi - That's FANTASTIC NEWS!!!

Jen- I was thinking the same thing this morning...does anyone know what Lisa's doing these days? I'm sure like a lot of us, she just got busy. Totally understand.

Schmoodle - Hang in there!!!

CindyM - Congrats to DP!! Awesome news!! Thanks for sharing the recipe. I might give it a try too!
Pearlrose - the show was good? They are coming to our area in the next 2 weeks and I am trying to talk DH into it. He doesn't want to drop another $100 on tickets (we went to the circus in Nov.) But I think DD would LOVE THIS! And DS would probably like it too with McQueen and Mater in it. I'll keep working on it!

Took DD to the Children's Museum today. It is new, isn't 100% open yet. But they have play areas set up. We spent the afternoon playing with blocks, making snowflakes out of coffee filters, playing at the bean table, "ice skating" with wax paper on our feet! It was a nice afternoon. She had a balst, and I enjoyed the one-on-one time. DH called and came home early, told me to take my time and he would pick DS up from school. SO I took her to the cutest children's boutique and bought her new brown and pink polka dot shoes. (She has a wide foot, so cute shoes are hard to come by!) Nice afternoon.
