Default Phase 1 creamy salad dressing

Is there a creamy salad dressing such as ranch or blue cheese that you can use during phase 1? I know it says 3 grams of sugar or less but does anyone know of a specific brand that would be a good choice?

I have looked through some of the past posts but still can't find an answer to this question. Does anyone know if the south beach dressings (do they still make them) are for all phases?

I use Ken's Steak House Light Ranch! It's got 80 cals, 2g sugar and 6 grams of fat per serving (I use 1 tablespoon to 1.5)

Thank you for your help. So, I guess I could use the Hidden Valley Ranch Light then. I think it has the same info. Anyone else have any suggestions? I have been bouncing back and forth for years between LA weight loss, WW and South Beach and all I have managed to do was keep gaining. So, I have decided to do South Beach for life because my biggest problems is carbs. When I eat them, I end up in a downward spiral all day. So, I'm just trying to make sure I buy all the right foods for when I get started on Friday. If anyone has any suggestions on any foods, I would really appreicate it.

The book actually suggests staying away from the "lite" varieties of salad dressings, mayo, etc. They typically have added sugar (which doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me). Dairy is the exception in which LF and lite are fine.

Check out the FAQ section in the stickies for food and recipe suggestions. There is a ton of info to get you started there. For me, I ate a lot of dairy and beans on Phase 1. Phase 1 is a good time to try out veggies you haven't before, too.

I use the South Beach Ranch. My family likes it and it is OK for all Phases.

Karen - I make my own. I use either FF or LF premade dips either french onion or veggie. I'll use about 2 tbsp and mix with really good balsamic vinagrette. It doesn't sound appetizing but its acutally quite good.

Careful! Pre-made dip mixes frequently are not SBD compatible for Phase I.

Take a look at Annie's Naturals. They may be in the "Health Food" section of your grocery. Green Goddess is good and there are several others that are creamy. I've got a garlic green something right now that has two grams of carb for 2 TBS. I usually use only one TBS.
