Bad evening last night! Two of my friends dropped in to see the pup before I had dinner started. We had to sample some new wine that I'd bought and ate cheese and crackers along with it. Then I had meatloaf for dinner - a big carb day!

I think I overdid it on the carbs today, too. I had more than I normally do, but it could have been much worse, believe me!

B. blueberry pecan pancake w/SF maple syrup and sliced banana
L. butternut squash soup, cheese quesadilla (2% cheddar on one ww tortilla, folded over)
S. Kashi dark chocolate chip cookie, 3 Ghirardelli chocolates
D. Quorn chicken cutlet, spinach souffle
S. 2 TB. peanut butter

Well yesterday was not terrible though the scale is not my friend right now. I'm adding a goal of logging EVERY bite again. Yeah, I know I need to do this but I've slipped into thinking I don't need to really log that spoon of PB or handful of nuts. Time to get that one right and maybe the rest will continue to fall back into place.

Today's Plan:
B: high fiber whole grain pancake made with 1 egg, "baked" apple, greek yogurt w/ maple agave
S: if I need one - kohlrabi & hummus
L: leftover anasazi chorizo stew
S: mocha with unsweetened almond milk & coffee
S: veggie bacon & laughing cow roll-ups, celery
D: baked falafel, PB hummus, mixed salad greens, & sauteed garlic spinach
S: Pumpkin Nessa bar

Exercise - walk or elliptical 1 hour, abs & arms 15 min.

Well I made it through the chocolate gauntlet again yesterday. Seems to be a lot of that during the holidays! I did, however, try one piece of homemade challah. I figure home baked stuff is frequently worth going a little off for (will have to re-evaluate that if the break room gets loaded with baked goods!). Yesterday was mostly on plan again.

Today's Plan:
B: pumpkin custard oatmeal & veggie breakfast sausages, and coffee, of course
S: clementine
L: Leftover bean kale stew
S:baby bel, carrots
D: I'm going to try the Mexican Eggplant recipe that was posted last week
S: Greek yogurt & applesauce

Agreed, Cottage, and the darn thing cuts well when frozen!

Also, never buy Skor bits for baking a special Bundt cake and leave the bag on the kitchen table. Buying in bulk is too darned easy - especially if you happen to have a teaspoon handy! Pay the extra and buy them in a sealed package at the regular grocery store!

Ruth -

I just finished Mindless Eating and he talks about the buying in bulk problem. he recommends splitting the package up as soon as you get home and putting the additional packages far out of easy reach. Skor bars were my favorite cheap chocolate. I could never have them in the house.

Next time, CyndiM. That is goof advice. I could also pre-measure and buy exactly what I need, right?

Well, I hardly dare post this because it's partially Food Porn but here's the selection for the dinnerparty tonight. I'll italicize what I plan to have. (At least there's no alcohol!)

Canapés & Punch
Blue Cheese Crostini with Caramelized Onions & Pear
Sesame Seed Pork Balls
Smoked Salmon on Pumpernickel

Apple & Herb Muffins
Lamb & Mango Samosas

Entrée
Grilled Pork Loin with Fennel Cream Sauce
Grilled Mixed Vegetables

Herb Roasted Potatoes
Bread Rolls & Butter
Dessert
Lemon Almond Mousse Cake
Tea & Coffee

Pray for me! The caterer is one of the very best in the area.

I need to jump on board with this.
Breakfast was a disaster, so I'll start fresh with my mid-morning snack!
B: piece of ice cream cake (ice cream sandwiches with cool whip ) and laughing cow wedge cheese, with coffee of course!
S: Laughing cow with celery
L: salad with homemade tomato soup
S: yogurt? or possibly an apple with SF pudding cup
D: beef barley soup, full of veggies, WW roll
S: SF jello cup with lite coolwhip

LOTS AND LOTS OF WATER

I survived shopping without any untoward food incidents!
Ruth - the blue cheese would kill me. Good cheeses are my weakness.

B: scrambled egg, refried beans, broccoli & salsa (and coffee, isn't that assumed?!)
S: 6 orange scented prunes, FF sugar free caramel latte
L: baked catfish with ****ake (okay that's funny - apparently there is a filter that thinks I'm cursing!) ginger sauce (very light and not sweet), side salad with 1 T gorgonzola caeser dressing, steamed veggies (broccoli, carrots & squash), tea
S: babybel, Doktor Kracker sunflower cheddar crackers (single serve)
D: Mexican eggplant, steamed cabbage
S: greek yogurt with blueberries

exercise: treadmill 1 hour, ball & weights - arms & back 15 minutes

If I just stick to plan this will be the best day I've had in awhile. Now I have to get through what could be 2 snow days!

$hitake works!

I ended up cancelling out on the dinner as I can't get out of my lane easily. I'm having Tex-Mex chops, roasted sprouts and ginger carrots with a tomato.

Not EXACTLY OP but for what today's been like, it's close enough for who it's for.

B: Kashi Bar
S: Cheese stick
L: Salad with cottage cheese and sunflower seeds
S: Celery and Laughing Cow
D: Black Bean Stoup
S: Glass of wine AND 1 oz dark chocolate (after volleyball.) I'm splurging.
