Lori, I'm allergic to cats too - same symptoms as you and who can resist petting a kitty!
The PC guru showed this morning. He looks about 14 although he's nearly finished High School but really seems to know his stuff. He made major apologies about missing the Tuesday appointment. My PC is now squeaky clean and he got rid of lots of extra duplicate programs.
Took a daytime Contact C this morning and felt much better so went and did the planting at the Church. Then met the "gang" at the diner for coffee. You have to show up there every so often to keep on top of the rumours. In Delta, if they don't have something to say, they just make something up! Actually one woman is famous for that!
I have a turkey leg cooking for sweet potato doggie treats and the start of a lamb pilaf on the go too. I must post that recipe because it's cheap, Phase II compatible and delicious. Now it's off to the dump with the garbage and then I'll do the veggie tray. After that a nice soak in the tub before I go out to dinner.
We have a glorious brisk autumn day out there. I hope your weather is as great.

Hello Everyone,
Hope you all are having a great day so far. Planning on heading out to Sports Authority sometime today and then to Toysrus.
Had some beans last night and went up a few this morning. Maybe I had them too late. I had about 1/4 cup. Any suggestions about beans? They were mixed beans.
Till next time!
Go Rays!

Afternoon, Girls.
Woke up early this morning and went to a city wide garage sale. DH found a really nice cd/dvd cabinet that matches our current furniture and DS found an Elmo toolbench.
I just took some chicken out of the fridge to marinate for tonight's satay and I'm pooped. I think I'm going to take a nap....I'm way too crabby to pack right now

Zeff, how did the cake turn out? Did you ever post pics? I would love to see the finished product. I have done some crazy cakes in the past. I took a class on decorating and made DH and the kids some involved bday cakes.
I had a nice surprise yesterday. My neighbor from across the street came by with a plate full of oatmeal cookies. I am usually the baker on the block, and I typically share with them. (Older couple, super nice, LOVE baked goods!). Since starting SB I haven't done any baking (not sharing the bean brownies!). She said that she saw me walking the kids home from school, I looked really tired, wanted to make sure I was feeling OK and share some of her cookies with me. How sweet huh?? Except... now I have this plate of cookies calling my name! I did eat 2 last night. I quickly put the rest in a zip lock bag and hid them in the back of the freezer... It was a great surprise though.

That is so sweet, Jenny. I'm the baker around here as well...
The cake turned out really great. A lot of people at the restaurant asked me where I got it and when I said that I had made it, they wanted me to make cakes for them. I'm really thinking of starting a little home-based part time cake decorating business.
ugh. I'm crabby today. DH is having friends over tonight and with the house in its current state - ripped apart from moving - I just wish they wouldn't come. I really don't feel like cooking or entertaining. Thankfully they are men and the only things they require are a tv and a video game system. DH is grilling so I really don't have to cook. I think I'm going to run out and get some paper plates so I don't have to do dishes either They also don't care about the state of the house, but I just don't like showing it to anybody when it isn't clean. I guess I'm neurotic like that.
off to Walmart for paper plates. We're going to be using paper this entire week anyway because of the move.

UGH. Clothes shopping was a horror. Couldn't find ANYTHING I liked. I ended up buying a plain black skirt. And a top that doesn't fit right, but didn't realize it until I got home. Guess that'll be going back.
Tonight we're going out to Manhattan for DH's birthday (which is actually tomorrow) to a restaurant/bar. I'll be good tonight, I promise!

ugh. DH has that game.
I asked if I could at least have the stereo tonight so that I could listen to some tunes while I packed...that will be nice. I work much better when I have music.
oh my. the chicken satay marinade smells so freakin' good. Coconut milk, curry, turmeric, cumin, and lime. Oh my, oh my, oh my.

Speaking of men and their stupid videos, I did tell you all about my sister's husband, not getting her anything for her birthday yet wanting to buy one for 30???????????

DH's games are usually $60.
Thankfully he doesn't buy them very often.

Good evening,
I have had two very lovely days. Yesterday was spent in a workshop and I learned alot about lamas. Did you know that they have been domesticated for 6,500 years. Is that longer than dogs?
Today, went apple picking, picked a bushed of Macs. Had a picnic with a little bit of French grape juice made it perfect.
About three weeks ago I picked Royal Galas and at .49lb that is a bargain. I baked three apple pies and froze them for Christmas and winter. I don't plan to touch them Once I was telling a friend of mine that when I have scraps of dough I freeze them and then make a galette(which is sort of a one crust pie, with the crust folded a bit over the fruit). She told me that her mother use to make this all the time but they called is a Pig's Pie. That sort of put everything in perspective for me.
Enjoy this weekend
Sophie

I think I must be the only one who's husband doesn't play video games. Occasionally he will play Tiger Woods golf but not often.
I have also determined that when I have cocktails that I crave carbs. I would kill to eat a Honey Crisp apple tonight in my fridge. But I won't. Having a few cocktails while watching Lifetime is bad enough.

Lisa - I love how I have no idea what that means...but as soon as I tell him, he says "gotcha".
Made some spinach and artichoke dip on whim. I can't wait for it to finish baking.
Getting ready to watch some mma.
mmacaskill - I would kill to eat that Honeycrisp in your fridge. I haven't been able to find them this year.
