I here starting phase 1 again to kill the sugar cravings. I ready for the challenge. I just brought home a huge pile of fresh veggies. Hoping to reach at least 5-7 lbs lost by November. Going on a trip to Arizona to see my grandparents, I haven't seen them in over 15 years plus. Can't wait.

Newbie
Hi Everyone~
I have been on SBD phase I for 1 week now. I have had a couple nibbles on nonSBD foods but so far so good. I have already lost about 10 pounds. My DH has also lost about that much too! I am going through the second week now of Phase I and was wondering how to make an easy transition? Where can I find info on SBD phase 1.5? I am afraid that if I introduce foods again that I am going to crave and binge? So I want to start preparing myself now for next week. Any thoughts
Megan

Menzy - there is a thread in the Frequently Asked Questions portion of the South Beach forum entitled Phase 2 Emergency Handbook. It should give you all the answers that you need.
If you find that a certain food makes you crave...avoid it. Willpower and planning are all that you need to avoid binges.
Please don't fear Phase 2, it is a very healthy way to eat.

Hi Everyone,
I started phase 1 on Monday and down 4 pounds so far. It's probably water but still happy about it. I had a rough start but am doing much better now.
I have a question regarding tomatoe juice. Does it have to be the plain tomatoe juice or can I have V8? I like the spicy V8.

to the new chickies! Glad you found us.
Mfir4Me, did you check out the Phase I Food List in the FAQ Section? V8 is there so go ahead and enjoy!
Just noticed it's listed as vegetable juice cocktail so I edited it to show V8.

I am in my second week of phase 1. I did well the first week, but ended up having cocktails last nights, so I'm feeling really guilty. I'm going to keep on going and not let this get me down too much.

Well, I just realized I had been making a boo boo. Carrots are a no-no! I goofed! Well, aside from that still doing good. And I finally found spagetti squash... are we allowed that in phase one? I didn't see it on the uber list of foods.
Also, Jewish holidays are coming up. THAT is going to be difficult... I wonder if gefilte fish is kosher for P1? It's fish... here's the nurtitional info, what d'ya think?

menzy- it's perfectly natural to feel anxious about moving to phase 2. i am having the very same feelings! But i intend to follow dr agatson's p1.5 advice to the letter and listen to my body to figger out where these durn cravings come from!

You gained back all the weight you lost during a baseball game?
Something tells me it isn't actual weight gain....

mistypaw - spaghetti squash is just fine as is all summer squash but winter squash (acorn, butternut, etc) needs to wait until phase 2.

Good Morning Chickies....
Checking in... Great to see everyone's tips and motivation. It's my inspiriation. I need to get back on track... I find I get into a rut and eat the same things day in and day out.
Cottage Cheese for breakfast
Spinach Eggwhites Quorn w/ LF Blue Cheesefor Lunch
Protein mix w/ oatmeal or Nuts for Snack
Fish / Vegetables for dinner
Is eating the same things causing me to not lose?
(I exercize like a lunatic)
