Hi. My accupuncturist recommended a low carb diet so SBD sounded good. It seems less restrictive than some of the others, so, I decided to give it a try. I'm 36 years old, five three, starting at one fifty five. My goal is 130, and then, I'll see how that looks, and if I feel the need to lose more weight. I weighed that a couple of years ago, wore a size 8, and was content with my appearance. This is the first day of phase one for me. So far, so good.
Nice to meet you all.

Day 5
You know, it's amazing, but I REALLY feel good about this so far! I can't weigh myself because my DH took the scale away because he didn't want me to become one of those people who obsess over that - and I'm really curious If I've lost anything, but the plan has been good so far! I've been eating less, and suprised by how *not* hungrey I've been. And what I have eaten has been healthier and on plan. Sweet DH is doing it with me because he wants to support me! But, as intimidating as P1 looked at first, I'm really starting to get comfortable with it. And this site, and all the recipes have really helped make this work so far!

Misty, I know for me, I weigh myself every morning. When I see it go up it encourages me to work harder that day to get it back down! Ask DH to allow you to weigh in once a week, or twice!

I was weighing everyday and in Phase 1 it is fun to see how quickly the weight is coming off.
In Phase 2, my weight loss is slowing down and I think I am doing to change to once a week because it isn't as much fun!

You'e doing a great job everyone.

Unload2, love your avatar. Brenda is right, two candies isn't quite staying on track, but at the same time it wasn't a huge blowout cheat. Everytime I went off track it was a big blowout! So you did pretty well considering.

Hi to all the newcomers on Phase 1, you're going to do great.

Finished Phase 1 yesterday, and this is my first day of Phase 2. I lost 8 pounds, which is so thrilling for me--I am typically an extremely slow loser.

The first thing I'm adding back is fruit, and I think I'll make it a half grapefruit. I did so well on Phase 1, and the cravings are SO gone...I don't want to do anything to trigger them again right off the bat!

Turns out DH didn't actually take the scale for that reason, the times just seemed to coincide. He's a science teacher and needed to weigh tings in class, so he "borrowed" it. But, now it's all dirty and scratched up to ****. So I need a new one. The silly part of it is, he would have preferred an analog or weight balance scale for school, rather than our digital one. Sometimes I feel like I'm married to Mr. Fantastic or the Absent Minded Professor. lol.

So last night we went to the grocery store to weigh ourselves. I'm down 7 lbs, and it hasn't even been a full proper week yet! And DH is down 12!! It was a happy shock! I couldn't stop looking at the scale with a silly grin!

I just started Phase I yesterday, and it's actually a lot easier than it's been in the past for me. It feels like my body is saying "thank you--this is what I need". I've been living on horrible food for the last 18 months. I'm really excited to see how this is going to work out.

There was an International Fair at the university where I work today and I was so excited to see that the Chaldean students were selling kebabs, tabbouli, and hummus. It was the perfect lunch!

Menzy--have you seen the transition schedule in his new South Beach Supercharged? I'll post it tonight. It's basically--stay on PI, but add one carb and one fruit every day for a few days, then add a few more for a few days, etc.

I'm also going to need to figure out a stick-to-the-plan plan because once I eat a few trigger foods, I crash and burn.
